Happy New Year! Today was the first Katie's Cars & Coffee event of the new year. It was cloudy and cold (just at 32F), but no rain by the time I arrived at 5:45AM. Lots of 'civilian' cars there when I got there - probably from Friday night. The rain held off... until about 7:00AM. The mist had turned into light rain by the time I had to leave for work at 7:30AM, but there was still a fairly good crowd by then.

Today was not what you'd call ideal cars & coffee conditions. The weather started out in the high-teens, and dropped down to the mid-teens as the morning wore on. Plenty of residual salt on the roads. Lots of ice patches on the Katie's lot.
The result? Not a huge turnout, but plenty of hardy souls, up for talking about cars - even if they brought their 'weather' vehicles.
Me? I was not going to bring the Lotus or the Jaguar out, with the amount of salt all over. As it happens, my wife's Smart threw a code on the way home from work Friday afternoon, so we had a Mercedes C250 rental from the dealership. What's the best foul-weather car? Somebody else's!
As usual during bad weather, lots of German cars!

Jeff's Esprit S4S.
2 x BMWs.
Noble.
Scott's new ZL1.
Ferrari 512 TR.
Lancia HF.
Bobert's C5.
Morris Traveler.
MGB.
Over time, I've discovered that a bad-weather Saturday followed by a not-quite-as-bad-Saturday will bring out a good crowd. This crowd doesn't like to go without their car fix...

Chuck's Infiniti.

Range Rover.
The Katie's lot @ 8:30AM.
BMW i3.
Saab Turbo.
RCollum's Acura, 'bad-weather car'.
It was raining lightly, and 33F this morning. That meant a late turnout, and attendance was a little sparse. Still, more than a dozen hard-core car fanatics were there by 8:00AM.
The salt and the weather generally mean very few interesting cars, but nothing can keep the regulars from showing up to at least talk about cars. One thing I have learned; it will take some very bad conditions to keep people away from this place two weeks in a row!

Clear and COLD - it was 19F when I arrived at Katie's this morning. Even when I left, at about 8:30AM, it was not out of the 20's. Did it keep some people away? Sure. Was it a bust? Not even close! The long shot is the lot at 8:08AM. We even had two motorcycle riders, one of whom arrived before 6:00AM.
As often happens during the winter, a lot of German cars. We also had two Ferraris, and a Fisker Karma, so there was variety!

Very good weather, considering it's the first week of February. Dry roads and most of the salt is off the streets. A good turnout at Katie's, as you'd expect with the better-than-expected weather this far into winter.

I took the overhead shot from the top of the stairs of the building at the corner. Some cars (not many) look really good from overhead. The split-window Stingray is a favorite of mine.

Beautiful pictures as usual and I finally figured out how you take the overhead shots.
Is that not a 355? I only ask since it is one my favorite Ferraris ever!

Loay

Bob,
That "944 Carrera GT" is actually a quite rare 924 Carrera GT. I think they were all originally built to homologate the even more 924 GTS race cars for LeMans.
