Fort Wayne, IN - Porsche Owners

Hello, I just thought I'd post up and see if there are any others out there on the board. I just purchased my first Porsche, a Guards Red 996 C2 Aero. I usually am on S2Ki.com (The Upper Midwest section obviously) and IndianaImpreza.com for my other two cars and found this board prior to purchasing my 996 and figured I'd stick around.

I'm loving the car and would post a picture if I wasn't on the computer at work. I'm interested on attending some events in the area if there are any, it's always nice meeting other car enthusiasts other than the local parking lot high schoolers, not that there is anything wrong with that

Ben

Many years ago, I used to spend time on s2ki and s2kca. Fond memories of that car.
Anyway, the CIR PCA has events in Ft. Wayne as well as "in the middle" events between Indy and Ft Wayne. I haven't been to any of those however.
I have been to a number of Ft. Wayne SCCA events and those guys are nice people.

Thanks balefire, I'll have to look into that. I think I've seen you out there before. You and your wife codrive ur 996TT right? Don't know if you remember the black boosted S2000, but that was mine. Love the TE37's btw. I'm down in Indy roughly once a month visiting friends and I try to make it out to Cars and Coffee at Paradise Cafe on the 96th and Meridian when I'm there Saturday mornings. S2Ki just had their national Wake The Dragon event last weekend and I took the C2 down since my S2000 was leakin oil from the turbo and it was awesome. I'm actually considering selling the S2000 and the C2 next year for a 996TT

yes, my wife codrives my 996 40th anniversary (not a TT). she also codrove my s2k back when i was much more competitive in autox. we still talk about and miss the s2k to this day. the TE37s kind of remind me of my s2k in an odd way.

you have a very beautiful 996 aero w/ 19" carrera wheels. i goto the C&C whenver i can, which is probably about 1x/month. its casual, its free. and i like mccallisters. hope to see you either there or an SCCA autox!

Ahh yes, the missing intakes on the quarter panels should have been a give away, oops. Yeah I've always been a big fan of the TE37s. My S2K has gold RPF1s on it and I like them, but they weren't my first choice. I wanted to get the Advan RGIIs, but those are just as expensive as TE37s and despite owning a Porsche I'm not made of money, just have good credit, haha.

Thanks! I love it, just wish I had the MKII body with the Turbo headlights and 3.6 motor like yours. This one had the sport brakes upgrade and other desirable options making it hard to pass up for the price. To get the same options on a 02+ would have put me out of my price range.

I will be at Grissom for the FWR autox on 5-15 with the 996, barring and problems getting the time off from work. I am also planning on attending Winged Warrior down in Indy the following weekend, though that will be in the S2K (granted it's fixed and suspension work is done).
If not one of those events maybe I'll see ya at C&C. I'll try and remember to post up on here when I head to Indy so you can come out if you want and visit.
