So after a bad experience with Irvine Mini last week, I was finally able to hook up with Philippe over at South Bay Mini today and ordered my mini.

"trojanman" recommended Philippe (thanks man) and I have to say that everything he said about him was spot on. This was the best experience I ever had buying/ordering a car. It shouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes to do the order, but I found myself talking with him for almost an hour. Very cool dude and they have a really fun environment in the Mini lobby.

If anyone in SoCal wants to order a Mini, you should definitely check out South Bay Mini.

So now the countdown begins... 8 weeks and counting...

Tick, tick, tick... man waiting for this little car to come in is like watching grass grow.

Anyone else waiting for their mini to come in?

I have a JCW on the boat, but coming from a 911 I don't think you will be happy with a Cooper S (torque steer and all, the R32 is a better car).

The JCW is a big improvement (test drove one on Monday) but definitely not a 911 replacement by any stretch of the imagination.

Given your knee, maybe the new 997 with PDK is the better ticket.

The Mini is expensive for what it is, and once you get past the "cute" factor it is very expensive.

Am I anti-mini? No way, just realistic. besides the JCW I have a World Challenge Mini on the way as well; but compared to a 911 (and I am keeping that) it sucks!

guys - I'm shopping one of these as my daily (and Stealth - still C2S hunting!) and I want to know what a good lease is on a Cooper S (Clubman or regular). Any ideas?

Bobby G, I am shopping around for a Mini Cooper S and depending on your credit and the lease rate you can negotiate I am finding leases in the mid 300's.

Check out the marketplace on this website which is for MINI owners... Lots of wheels being sold there and many are in CA.

Just found out that my Mini is ready for transport. Anyone know how long it will take to get to SoCal from that stage?

spyderman33, I ended up specing the Mini totally different than when I did that sample. Ended up going with the Laser blue with black punch leather interior. I think I will be looking for wheels that are completely polished.
