Drove the electric Mini Cooper

So I guess they only brought 500 of these to the states. My cousin was one of the very few that got one. I saw him last night and brought it over to my home. We took a test drive and I was very surprised how fast the car was. The only problem with the car was the regenerative feature . Anytime you go off the throttle the car would slow way too much. I am not a fan of electric cars, but I must say I was very impressed with it. These cars are not in production yet. Mini brought them here for some R&D, so my cousin has the car for 1 year.

i saw one (alongside 2 teslas and another electric car) in santa barbara at a wall street journal eco conference last week. i was hoping to get to drive the tesla, but when i was talking to the guy from the company that evening, it was too late...both he and i had consumed several glasses of wine and he didn't want to smash one of them up! lots of different electric cars coming, but basically the battery technology isn't really ready for prime time yet. the tesla batts weigh almost 900 pounds! the rest of the car hardly weighs anything....
