New here and want to get involved in OR car culture
Hello everyone!
My name is Rob and I recently graduated with my MBA (yay college).
I'm 23, and will be entering entry level management in the healthcare industry within a few months. My question is: what is a great car for under 10k that has a mature but sporty nature? Although I currently have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee and 1997 Chevy 1500, I will need a professional ride within the next couple of years.
I'm a massive Porsche fan and hope to own a 997 (turbo or C2S/C4S) once my wife's and I's student loans are paid off. UNTIL then, I would like something sporty and fun, but not expensive.
Won't be seen in my suit driving a 240sx with fender flares and a lsx swap while being in middle management.
I live in Oregon, so convertibles are out of the question.
My thoughts are possibly a Jaguar XK8 (1999-2003), BMW E30 (or any classic BMW that is easy to work on), VW GTI, ect.
Also to note, I'm 6'2", so a Miata is out of the question.
I'm new here, and would greatly appreciate any feedback you have to offer. I'm located near Corvallis Oregon and would love to get more involved in car culture around here.

I don't mind Subarus, but they are very overpriced in Oregon since everyone either drives a Prius or a Subaru. If I ever wanted to get into autox I would love to modify and old 2.5rs, but not for a management DD. Also, I don't find them to be very business oriented at all. Same with the Accord.

If you can find a used 3-series that cheap that is reliable, go for it. Otherwise, whatever you get, make sure its reliable for your new job.
I'm in a professional field and drove a Mini Cooper S (Dinan S2).
Generally, it was fine.
It's more about the person, then what you drive. As long as you have a nice presentable car, that is taken care of, I think, to me, that makes a stronger impression.
Now, I do the hiring. But I still drive what I want. But it is a four door luxury performance car now. Ah, getting old(er).
