Experienced with horsepower but first foreign car. Excited!

I’m excited to be buying my first foreign car! Well, my first car was a 70 VW Baja (that I pushed more miles than I drove) so technically it’s my second. Like so many others I have loved Porsche and wanted a 924 when I was a kid. Well I finally and getting one and kind of by chance. We got a great deal on a 13’ cayenne diesel. Its my wife’s and she loves it. I’m mechanically inclined and have built a lot of motors although all have been high hp American v8’s and a few others. I’m a little worried about issues that only Porsche mechanics can do and the costs if they arise. All the other stuff I actually enjoy doing, brakes, oil change and etc. I have a lot of tools and like to work in my stuff.

The cayenne will be used in snow country so I wanted a AWD. Coming from Phoenix nobody here needs AWD but in the snow I wanted it for my wife for safety and etc. We are both excited!

im more excited about the attention to detail by Porsche and the driving experience they are known for. I personally haven’t driven it since I’m not there and I’ve NEVER driven a Porsche before! It’s time for me to go from raw power to finess. I have the raw power covered, my drag boat goes 0-100 in 3 seconds, the new motor will be much quicker.... TFX block-BAE fatheads-14-71-Enderle... for those of you that know what that is

I hope to contribute a little, but learn A LOT. This may be the beginning of a long line of Porsches for my family.
