Anyone have leads on GT-R lists?
Looking for the usual, minimal wait, MSRP. California preferred but not required... any leads for a fellow 6speeder?
PM me if you do, I'm in no rush so I'm not worried about being first, I do have my C2S afterall.

talked to a dealer here in phoenix. He 'explained' to me that nissan is making sure nobody is pice gouged..... By limiting the over MSRP to 20k. They are going to do a silent auction for their first one, after it has been on the lot for 30 days. He said they were slated for 8, but didnt know color combos

not sure how they can do that. Once they sell it to the dealer, they've got no business telling them what they can do with it. And the easy way around it to to just title the car and sell it as used.
I am getting one, but I know the dealer and am giving them somethign they want in return for thier #2 spot. Not sure what color to order. I think it will be white. Good luck on finding a CA car. I think your best bet will be to find a state that requires thier new cars to be 50 state smog legal (like NY) and buy it there. CA dealers are off thier rocker with mark up on these things...

but they can stop allocating cars to that dealership if they break nissans rule
Well I'm still in the market if anyone has leads! I'll be your best friend forever, although that may be a deterrant.

Legally they cannot do that. Once the dealer gets the car, the manufacturer cannot determine the pricing on that vehicle. If the manufacturer sets a price as a brand, it becomes price fixing, which is illegal. If the factory decides to stop allocation of those cars to that dealer, the dealer can technically sue for discriminatory practices and neither the dealer or the factory ever want to get into that situation. I think if you could get the launch edition cars at $30,000 over, that's not too bad considering the anticipation for this car.
Aren't there lots of things that have set pricing from the manufacturer? Rolex, Saturn, etc? It is my understanding that Rolex dealers risk getting dropped by Rolex if they sell for below MSRP.
Not when it comes to auto sales. Selling Rolexes, you are just a dealer. Which means you are authorized to sell their product. However, your entire store is not Rolex or deicated to the Rolex brand alone. As a franchised car dealer, the entire store is dedicated to the brand or brands in some cases you represent to sell and service. Trust me, I am a new car dealer. I have read my franchise agreement. They cannot tell me what I can sell my cars for. Saturn was a different deal. The franshicse agreement includes the one price policy. If you remember though, Saturn used to be all factory owned and operated dealerships. As far as Rolex is concerned, I don't think they risk getting dropped if they sell below MSRP. They can get dropped for advertising below MSRP. They feel that it will undermine the prestige of the brand.
I think you're all crazy. *****ing cos a dealer maybe restricted to only charging $20k over MSRP
If nobody was willing to pay over MSRP then dealers wouldn't be able to do it. I have my name down for one but I am not paying over MSRP just out of principle. This probably means I won't get a car, well then so be it. I'll pick one up in 6-12 months after launch already run in.

Rolex and Oakley both control pricing on their products through allocation. If you sell below MSRP they cut off supply. Nissan will try to do the same thing, but it will be futile. Every dealer is going to be selling over MSRP for a long time if there really are only 800-1200 cars per year for the US. Take the demand, subtract out supply and you end up way over MSRP. This is Capitalism/Free Market 101.
this is rampant with any new hot car. ferrari dealers play these games all the time. So do Porsche delares. I suspect the manufacture claims to be upset, but the price premium helps the prestige of the brand. It may turn some people off, but supply being less than demand always creates excitement...
