Sold GT3 for GT-R
Well, I had the opportunity to purchase a Super Silver GT-R a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't resist. I ended up selling the 996 GT3 and picking up the GT-R and I couldn't be happier. The GT3 was a fantastic car but I was using it as a daily driver and the GT-R dominates in that category--comfortable, easy to get in and out of (cup seats in the GT3), nav, XM, blue tooth, etc. The suspension is obviously a lot more road friendly than the GT3 yet it seems to "stiffen up" appropriately when hanging the corners. I actually find myself driving the GT-R harder into turns than the GT3 because the GT-R just inspires more confidence. The GT3 is probably the better track car (in terms of fun), but for my purposes, the GT-R is exactly what I needed. The biggest disadvantage of the GT-R is that the steering feels a bit numb when compared to the GT3--still not bad, but not nearly as good!
I've included some pics in the link below. I'm curious to hear everyone else's thoughts and experiences! BTW, I purchased the car for MSRP so I'm assuming that most of you would have done the same?

Hey congrats on the car, glad to hear you are enjoying it.
I just got home after a bit of a drive and it was truly exhilarating. The car is really alive and so fun to drive (the C2s was as well, but the power and grip on this just feels crazy). It really feels like rwd for the most part on the street, until more grip is needed.
Also enjoy getting love from various motorcyclists

Congrats! I just got mine this past Wed. Interesting comparo of the two. While I've never driven a GT3, I did have an 02 996tt 6 speed w/factory power kit for 2 yrs, and have to give the nod to the GTR hands down.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate it! The car is growing on me like a fungus. I'm enjoying it more and more everyday. I think someone will have to pry this thing out of my hands in the future because I can't see buying anything else for a daily driver. The recent $7500 price hike makes the decision even more of a no-brainer.
To date, I am not aware of any such thing--I'm sure they will be available soon if not already.
