Switched to GTR
I am on the list to get a GTR here in Vancouver....but lately have been thinking I'll pass
-overpriced
-overhyped
-overweight
I personally like the look of the GTR -- however it is EXTREMELY Japanese in its design. I keep thinking "transformer" when I look at it --- very digital. It certainly has a presence -- but it is not beautiful like an Aston Martin or Ferrari or a 911
I was also thinking that even though the GTR has got a lot of press over its performance levels/bang for the buck --- this is only a new benchmark. It won't be long before the GTR is superceded by the performance numbers of another car.
The thing I dislike the most about the GTR is that it's online community is comprised of a bunch of know-it-all ******bags..... at least in my experience. Imagine a room full of HeavyChevy's --- you get the picture
(no offence Heavy Chevy)

ahhh, thanks for the laugh.
And lord knows the all the car communities are filled with know it alls, probably the same ones spouting off on all of them.
Overpriced, many would disagree considering the level of performance and what it offers the driver. Is the car overhyped, well it is has made waves, polarized enthusiasts and spurred much brand defensiveness, and a lot of people have written about it - if you want to blame the car sure. Heavy, yeah (but isn't it in the same ballpark as an M6 or some other GTs?), but the fact is it is great to drive.
You are entitled to your opinion no doubt, I'm not here to sell you on it I'm just a person enjoying the car who hopes that if you are a car enthusiast you are basing the decision and POV on the tangible aspects of the car itself and not swayed by not truly relevant influences.
But anyway, do what makes you happy and best of luck with whatever you get.
Something tells me that you're basing this factor on the simple fact that it has a "nissan" badge on it's hood.
Any true enthusiast will see that the performance capabilities of the GTR make it a great bang for the buck.

wow... it's only overpriced if you paid too much right?
by the way - i got mine for $76k
and dealers are selling them for msrp (which recently went up to $79k)
i didn't want to pay $140+ for a turbo with all of the options i wanted.
but i'm completely happy with the options offered in the gt-r (hdd for mp3's, dual navi screen setup, ipod interface, and all of those cool gadgets).
