One thing is Nissans marketing team knows how to keep people talking about their cars.

There are millions more people in this world that know the specs of a GT-R than a 911.

I bet 99% of the internet GT-R experts out never even heard of PDK.

They probably couldn't even tell you the displacement of the engine.

I'm only suggesting this because of what I've encountered over the last 10 months of ownership.

Most people wont know Porsche and Ferrari specs, all they know is that a Porsche and a Ferrari is far far far far more desirable than a Nissan

The same people dismiss all American cars as pieces of junk, the same people are amazed when their modified S2000 is in danger of being ran into on a twisty road. The same people say there is no way a piece of crap OHV old tech motor can spin 7,000 rpm.

There are alot of morons in this world, and unfortunately the car world is filled with people that " think " they are experts.

So true... So f*cking true.

I've run into thousands of GT-R experts and thousands more magracers that know that 'x' car with 'y' mods on 'z' track will beat my 'g' car.

Who gives a sh*t? Either get in your 'x' car with 'y' mods, or shut the hell up.

Yeah Germeezy1 has a tendacy to make some comments sometimes that actually make sense or are not word for word copy and paste from some magazine, news clipping or information derived from the internet. I just dont have the time some do to spend researching all these GTR "facts" and "non facts" on a daily basis. The amount of information Morano has alone in his mind(or hard drive) about the GTR from personal experience is just "priceless"

"poking fun at you Morano, dont get offended and report me to mods because your feelings get hurt"

There are very few people in the world that own or have access to driving an R35 GTR due to its relative newness. I am lucky enough to know two people that own one and have driven the previous generation R34 V Spec which does give me some knowledge about the car.

That being said my issue originally was not with Nissan or the Skyline line, after all the R34 V Spec still gives me the *******. It was with Nissan engineering by press release on the R35, and not letting an amazing car stand on its own two feet so to speak.

My statememt was mainly based on people that don't know anything about cars in general or only know one kind of car and " think " they know everything. I don't think you could deduce from reading I and some of the other posters opposed to the GTR that we didn't know anything about cars.

I make it a point to know as much information about every kind of car that I can. Even with a highly modified beast of a car in my opinion you always have to at least know the competition.

How many times has Nissan produced an official (non scrutinized) time around the ring? On all those times they have also included a bit about not having the best conditions, first it was damn then it was dust on the track. The thing is that no one has been able to come close to Nissan's magical time.

Engineering by press release is what created this huge air of myth around the R35. Nissan invented this whole self measured " Ring " time debacle and have gotten to be very good at " Engineering by press release " .

A modified Nissan GTR R35 with a bunch of upgrades including a HKS GT570 turbos against a stock Corvette ZR1. Even modified this GTR still lost, it really makes you wonder what extra mods Nissan used for it's Nurburgring GTR.

Even with that package I think it still dynos with less power than the ZR-1 so I would expect it to win especially with the weight advantage.

The ring tho could be a different story and could have alot to do with traction. Who knows

Do you actually believe what your saying Kickhard?

How else can the heavier and shorter gearing GTR nearly keep up with the ZR1 (on a rolling start)? Now imagine what goodies Nissan had in their test GTR to be able to compete with the enzo's, ACR, ZR1 and Zonda's.
