Will adding the Cobb Stage 1 void the manufacturers warranty?
Will adding the Cobb Stage 1 void the manufacturers warranty?
My dealer tells me that anything past modding the exhaust on my '09 GTR will void the warranty on the car. They state the black box would record any reprogramming or any other change. Can anyone add their thoughts or known facts to this?

this has been discussed many times on this forum.
Your dealer is correct. I assume that if the new tune resulted in a specific problem caused by the ecu tune then yes Nissan has the right to not cover the damage. Really no different than any other car maker. If they know it is there and it caused the problem then they have the right to deny coverage.
BTW i have a cobb stage 1 on my car and feel it is safe.

Come on man. What the hell kind of question is this?
OF COURSE it would void warranty. If the tune is the cause of breaking something on the car, why would they cover something that you were the cause of?
You break it, you bought it!
This is the risk you take with all car tuning.
