Considering a GTR

Have any owners found themselves getting bored with the gt-r after a few months, specifically when compared to say a gt3?

I found the GT-R to be a technical marvel. It was definitely fast and I found it fun to drive on the street. It was not nearly as involving a car as my 2008 GT3RS. There is still something special about shifting a precise manual gearbox yourself. The GTR feels more "sterile," but was fun in its own way.

definitley one of the best cars i have test driven, but i don't know it as a daily driver. I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Has Nissan voided the warranties on the existing 09 GTR's w/ LC?

"The singular thing people need to remember is that using launch control does not void the warranty - The warranty clause regarding the operation of the vehicle with VDC turned off states that Nissan will not cover damage or failures of otherwise covered components, IF it can be determined that the use of launch control led or contributed to the failure. The act of using launch control (which requires turning off the VDC) will not automatically void the vehicle warranty. Simply put, the warranty outlines that failures or damage resulting from things such as misuse, accidents, non-factory modifications, etc. are not covered under the factory warranty.

Further, the warranty states that VDC should only be turned off to help when rocking the vehicle when stuck in mud or snow.

Nissan will not void the entire warranty on any of our cars based on one specific issue of one specific component or system, however, a part or system won’t be covered under warranty if Nissan determines that the failure was as a result of misuse, modifications, etc. (as mentioned above)."

I believe there was a lawsuit filed against Nissan and as long as you upgrade to Launch Control 2.0 you are covered under their original warranty.

I had a GTR for 8-10 months, it was fun to drive, got a lot of stares, but I don't think I would daily drive one. I have a friend that drives his, rain, snow, or shine.

I owned one for 5000 miles/4 months...sold it and bought a 07 gt3. Dont regret it for a second.

Great car, just incredibly uninvolving/sterile. Too quiet.

Fastest car ive owned, but that gets old after your first ticket...

Is this something that Nissan is covering through a service or recall on all 09's or do you have to pay for this upgrade?

It's free upgrade. You also have your right not to do it.

I'm just the opposite. I'm considering getting out of my 04 GT3, and going to an 09 GTR. I also have a 89 944turbo that was mainly used as a track car. I want to get something that can double as a street car/ track car, when I dont feel like loading up the trailer. I was looking at the 996t, but I'm not a fan of the tiptronic! I think the GTR will go over better with the wife when I tell her that she can drive it, when shes not driving her Cayenne S!

Hmmm, not a good idea. My gf scratched my rim and rear fender during first drive...
