My guess is 24 months from now you will see 09's in the low 40's. If you look at the lease rates/residuals you can see kind of what to expect. Add to the fact that even limited production you have a ton of cars available. I just bought a 996 TURBO S and was torn between the 2 cars as DD. I figure drive the Turbo for 2 years and then get the GT-R

I'll wait 6 months to a year more for 10-20k more in depreciation.
(I must admit I'm not too into the secondary market as of now - but high $50's is the best one can hope for)
It depends...
The pricing model for the '12's, I think, will directly affect this.
It looks like (to me) that the new model may cost around $90k. This will keep numbers higher. But if the '12's are priced around current numbers ~$84k, I think the numbers will fall a bit over the next year - because of the new new chassis improvements.
It's hard to tell - because warranties will start expiring in year or so as well (for those that opted out of the 6yr warranty with extended mileage).
Basically - if this trend continues - by next year we should see '09's for about mid $50's. And the year following that, we might see low $50's, high $40's (hopefully).
I might be a bit optimistic with the low numbers, but that's just me. For those who didn't wait and jumped on the early models for $72k, we made out pretty well (because there are no options for the car, these prices didn't vary from dealer to dealer - except for mark-ups, which rarely appear anymore).
