Driver Vs Transmission
Driver Vs Transmission
Are all these GT-R's that are breaking records on the 10's and 9's are been driven on Auto or Manual transmission mode?

I took my car to the 1/8 track today and I was like .1 or .3 faster using manual using the first three gears, my car is almost stock and I hit a 7.64 on the 1/8 using manual (77 degrees outside), but couldn't repeat again after that or do better, I just wonder was the best way on launching this car because LC slows me down a lot on the start my 60 foot times was 1.918 and I think that's slow for this car, I have also tried the step off break and step on gas pedal method, also the power break method from 3700 RPM's, none of these have work on launching this car fast...any Tips?.
Most of them are auto.. The same times could be run with your grandma driving if she could just HOLD ON.. LOL
^ +1. My mother actually did try this (she got scared around 70mph).
Auto. The car will never miss the perfect upshift at the perfect point. The fastest top fuel dragsters figured out that autos work best, so why not use that knowledge for better performance?
Only a few instances will manual shifting work better... Short shifting to maintain traction, or if you've raised your rev limiter, and had the car tuned for more boost. Usually, because boost tapers off, there is no benefit of holding the RPM's above 6800.

I run mine 27-29psi cold (depending on ambient temperature). I don't alter my air pressure for track events (or drag racing). So if you're running 30psi cold, that seems fine. I think the tire spec recommends 29 cold. 30 (relying on the screen display) should be close enough.
