Euro Spec (recalled motors)

Would like to let you know someone got their hands on about 60 recalled - engines that have faulty wrist pins and a bearing / oil pressure issue.

The problem is not found on the USA SPEC/ JDM or UK spec GTR's.

This problem is only found only on the EURO spec LHD cars.

Nissan has fixed the problem but the issue of the engines that have disappeared from the scraper have not been resolved.

I would like to let others know who are possibly in the market for buying a used VR38DETT to ask questions where it is from and since its a recalled used motor to be aware of this problem.

The sad part about it is someone is going to be sold good motor when its ultimately recalled bad engine. So buyer beware.

can it be used as a core ? since the engine builder will change the piston, main bearing, etc ?

I think if you get one and rebuild it, that should be fine because you wil change the bearings anyways.
