yup, this was a $216,000 car new and not to mention the performance gains are very small over the base car. if they thought they can sell this car in the USA, nope

btw this one is for sale in japan and the seller is taking a $84,000 loss on a car with 2,000km

that's a hell of a cliff for depreciation !

Im sure its a great car but thats just way too much money. Had I that kind of money I'd opt for saving a bit more and getting the GT2 RS or Gallardo 560-4 etc. And I love the GTR a lot.

Funny thing is Nissan thinks there is a market out side of Japan for this car.

Think if they want to get more people interested in the GTR

Offer a "Whitebody" for people to build or a striped down car ready for GTR spec cup series.

There is a market for this car elsewhere - probably the same type of person that will pick up an LF-A...

Personally I agree with everybody here - it's not worth the mild performance increase.

I'd rather have a GT2. (I won't consider a GT2RS as I don't have the imaginary resources, nor the allocation, for one).

For that type of money you can buy a "regular GTR" mod the hell out of it and track prep it for probably considerably less. As others have said... for not much more money you can have a nice selection of other "supercars"

True to all of the posts in this thread, Some how Nissan would have to sell this car at a great loss to even attract the buyers in the USA and many would just say "NO WAY" I'd be able to get XXXX for $$$$$$ way less. oh man the EPA would have a field day with a turbo boost scramble button in a car like this on a production car.

So if the M-spec is going to have some of the items from the Spec V car is one thing but to charge another $40k for it is

I would never be able to justify the price tag.

btw this one is for sale in japan and the seller is taking a $84,000 loss on a car with 2,000km
That is some serious depreciation! And I thought the only thing going for the Spec V was that it would achieve an iconic status and hold its value

np, the dealers who have them will not open them or let any one sit in them, let alone a test drive is completely out of the question.
