I would have put my money on the GT2 but seems like he couldn't control the car out of the corners.
I would love to see this battle using all German Drivers and the results!

That ZR-1 driver was pretty timid. Not to mention the ZR-1 has the best 'ring time of the bunch @ 7:19 with a non-pro driver.

So what you are saying... is that the GT-R has a faster overall Lap Time because of its better overall coordinated design and engineering, when viewed as a whole.

Because of the GT-R's inherent design, it has also been labeled by some experts as "boring to drive". The GT-R thus seems to achieve Nissan's "Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime" philosophy.

So you mean I don't need ten years experience on the track in order to be competitive? Way to go Nissan! Knowing that my years of honed professional driving experience has now been made less relevant, I can also understand the emotions a pilot must feel when his plane's computer makes a perfect landing in zero visibility, as he sits back and watches. I am sure pilots too felt more important and were less bored in the good old days; but then again who wants to bring back the Bi-planes?

^And your point is?

No one said the GTR is better than any car, just that it performs better.

I did not say that either Luckyeff. Simplified for you are my points below:

1. The GT-R is a great car, due to the summation of its separate parts.

2. The GT-R's engineering allows faster lap times as was noted above, even though it does not have the fastest acceleration times overall. Because it drives easier and corners faster and has AWD, it makes the driver feel more comfortable when reaching its limits. "Look Mom, no hands!"

3. The GT-R requires less driver input on any track than almost any other car of its caliber. Nissan in its wisdom, made the GT-R very easy to drive, that is why I referenced their AAA philosophy. Some professional drivers say the GT-R feels boring and that it is not fun to drive, I think because their honed driving skills are required less in order to get great times.

4. If people think something is too easy, they quickly lose interest and think its less fun. Think X-Box Games.

5. Pilots in the old days flew planes which required a lot of flying skill, many were easily considered heroes, like Charles Lindbergh. Will we go backwards again to that era, no. Pilots now must fly with HAL to Paris in a few hours while their passengers are comfortable lounge drinking and watching movies.

6. The driver in the GT-R has been made less relevant, good or bad, that is why some also say a much lessor sports car that requires a lot of driver input and skill still can be very very "fun" to drive. I hope I made myself more clear on this matter.

7. BTW I own a 2010 GT-R. Luckily, my driving skills are not that well honed, and I don't have 10 years track experience. I enjoy driving it even though others may be bored because it has no clutch pedal and requires less skill to make you look good. Now that may be a bad thing, but I guess that I will just have to live with it.

Thanks, I think,
Tachsman

i love my new gtr but have a hard time believing these lap times are not due to driver differences. gt2rs and zr1 are much faster at ring than gtr.
