TopSpeed Motorsports- Recent Alpha9 Build *Pictures&Graph, AMS Alpha9 Turbos make 758

TopSpeed Motorsports gives Godzilla some extra muscle!!

Just wanted to share with you guys a recent build we just completed. The customer brought us his 2009 GT-R in bone stock form looking for more. We sat down, went over his driving habits, power goals, and what type of racing if any he wanted to do with this particular GT-R. Turns out a fun weekend car with the occasional drag day through in there was what he had in mind.

The target was around 700whp with the possibility for a 9 second pass given the right fuel and tire combo. After reviewing all of the turbo options the mutual consensus was the AMS Alpha 9 upgraded turbos. The AMS Alpha 9 turbos deliver usable power while retaining factory like spool and reliability, which is exactly what we were looking for.

The AMS parts coupled with a few things from our TSM Products line made for one mean GT-R! We did a few things a little different on this build that the others. First off we tested the new Aeromotive fuel pumps in the factory GT-R basket to provide plenty of fuel for a possible E85 upgrade in the future. That modification worked flawlessly and we would recommend it to anyone. Secondly the customer wanted to retain the factory muffler and tips in order to keep the car as “sleeper” as possible (we assume it had a little something to do with the girlfriend as well )
We achieved that by custom fabricating a 3.5 inch test pipe extending from the y-pipe to the factory muffler set! At first we were slightly sceptical whether that would rob the car of power, but as the dyno graph shoes...that was certainly NOT the case!

The rest of the modifications were pretty straight forward, and install in a weeks time by one of our Nissan techs BrandonB. After a TSM custom tune by our in house tuner Doug Wilks the car put down an astounding 758whp!

Our customer was very happy with his new setup. We have plans to take the car to the strip in the very near future, so stay tuned for the drag slip!

Thanks for reading guys, feel free to ask any questions or add any comments you may have!
