Out with the M3, in with the GTR!
Thanks guys, I'm absolutely over the moon with it, it's fantastic!
I didn't even plan on buying the car, I just went to my local dealer to look at 370's for my wife and saw it there. My wife said we should get it (knowing how much I've been on about it for ages) and sat down to get some info/figures. The salesman told us it was an '11 with 900 miles - imagine our surprise when the in service date made it an '09!?
The sales manager sent the salesman home immediately and thanks to a very lucky turn, being that the dealership owner is one of those deeply moral types, they stopped us walking out of the door. It was up for $76k initially and they were offering pretty good money on my M3. In the end I walked out with the car for $68k + 2 years of their best extended warranty, 0 deductible, 4 new tires, a car cover and a year's free servicing.
Overall I did quite well I think given the prices GT-R's are trading for on OVE.

Well, I worded that previous post poorly.
I have a 2010 M3 that I absolutely enjoy and could not part with it.
That is the reason I would find it difficult to get rid of (I am a collector 2001 530i, 2006 330XI) now feeling the need for a GT2 or GT3 (more like the latter if the GT2 is the widow maker).
Still looking for ideas on the 2005 GT2 value.
Thanks

You shouldn't be so surprised about the passion some have on some car forums. While I don't agree with those that **** on anything other than an M at M3post, you will find this on EVERY forum....at least all of those that I frequent or have frequented. I see it here and Rennlist with Porsche guys, I see it on CorvetteFOrum with Vette guys, I read it on ViperAlley....they all do it. For godsake, a guy sold his Vette on CorvetteForum for a Z4M and you would have thought the guy killed a litter of puppies for Christsake. Those asshats were relentless.
i feel sorry for those who are so hung up on a brand that they wont give other cars a try... there is so much out there to enjoy. if there were a perfect car, i haven't found it...

I actually managed to squeeze another 2 years warranty out of the dealer, now it's in warranty under their best coverage until nov 2015. Best thing is, I only paid $960 for the whole warranty!
I am a member over there as well and I was surprised also. I was happy for you and the GT-R is an awesome car. Best of luck with it. Seems like you got an awesome deal which makes it that much sweeter.
