Oh, no doubt. And lets be perfectly clear, I would love to own one. Its performance is unmatched, especially at its price point.
Having said that, I have friends who can't drive their way out of a paper bag, and the GTR makes them look like Lewis Hamilton.
I consider cars like the 996 GT2, Vipers, and Supras as "pure drivers" cars, because there are no nannies like TC, LC, or PDK (which, I want to get at some point).

Not surprising at all. This is an all star team. Pretty sure everyones top 11 is going to be this list but you can switch the cars around. Only car to me that seems missing is the McLaren. Can't wait to drive a Boss 302, what a bargain of a car. I'm still trying to make my car a Cayman R....

Scott - Very Interesting top 10 list - Thanks for posting!
Quite a spread in MSRP's. I can't help but question their criteria and maybe others have a better sense for a few of these. LFA comes in behind the Cayman R and Boss 302??? I'll have to check out the CaymanR and Boss 302 as I'd have never guessed.
I'm on my 4th GTR - 2 '09's, '11, and now a '12 BE, I've always shook my head at comments such as: they have no soul, drive themselves, aren't pure cars... I see it as a new platform, technology, etc., with a very different driving experience than the Supra or a G, but the stability and effortless ability to do things I'd be hanging on for dear life to do in my Supra or G actually make it impressive to me.

I have total respect for the GT-R and publications can print what they want to print.
With that said...Motor Trend?
That list is all over the place in my opinion.
Not a mag I put much stock in but it's still a free country.

The 458 Italia seems to be making great strides at the track as well... be interested to see the 2012 list and if the new 991 is worthy

+1, Absolutely 100% agree with you. The selection of cars is not wrong but I have issues with the rankings.

I've just seen another mag (Autocar) place the Cayman R 1st, the GT3 RS 4th and the Evora S 5th. These tests mean next to nothing to me. Last year Evo placed the GT3 RS 1st, the 458 2nd, the Evora S 7th and the DBA GTR about 8th.
Not trying to detract from the GTR, just merely stating my opinion that these tests as a lottery of bollox.
Boss 302 better driver's car than an LFA? There's one you wouldn't have predicted. Lotus Evora 11th? Obviously steering precision and feel wasn't a requirement.
GTR would win. Superior traction and torque.
