Switzer Ultimate Street Edition: First time at dragstrip
congrats, every tenth of the 60' is good for 2 tenths on the top end(in most cases), so you should be good for a 9.3-9.4. very impressive!
I have has the same issue before with not getting enough spin out of the hole, what helped was increasing the tire pressure. What psi do you usually run them at?

Okay - first: one of you (Divex or skeeter) must change your avatar... This conversation is confusing the crap out of me.
Second - Nice runs!!! It's the beauty of the platform. Drive it to work, run the 1/4 in 9secs, drive to the road course, go to the grocery store on your way back home.

I run my R888s at 29 psi cold on the street and the strip.

Scott:
Those are some great times given the heat and humidity. That is why I usually don't bother heading to the track (MIR) between April and September. When I do go, it is an exercise in futility and frustration (like "why did I take a day off from work, pay $100 and spend 2 hours driving back and forth for these sh!tty times!!!").
Your car is definitely a 9.5X @ 150+ car in the fall. But it must still feel good to know (and have proof) that even in terrible conditions your car will run 9s!

Wow, the bar for disappointment keeps getting raised... every single run in the 9's on 93 pump, full weight, no drag tires, in so-so weather - and that's bad? Jeez - tough customer.

You're absolutely right. One issue that I've been having with the car is that I can't stop driving the dang thing. The thing is an absolutely blast on the street.
So, at the strip when I ran 9.9 @ 146, my best 60-130 was only 5.1 during a 146.4 mph run (p-box was dead-on and said my mph was 146.2).
According to my p-box, I just ran a 4.63 and trapped 149.8 in 65 degree (but humid - 82%) weather, during a no-launch 1/4 mile run on the street. Same 7-11 93 octane. Gives me hope what she'll end up trapping if I can just duplicate my 4.34 run at the track.

I can't bench press 315 lbs ... or 250 lbs ... and my daily driver does not run badass single digit passes!

You know, Scott, what is really amazing is that your pump gas GTR is quicker than your previous (race gas, to my knowledge) 996TT, which was once one of the standard bearers for acceleration.
Crazy how far things have come.
It's pretty crazy what Tym Switzer is doing with his pump gas builds.
Thanks, Kenny. It really is an amazing car.
