Nissan GT-R Nismo: Nurburgring Laptime - 7:08
2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo to pack 595 hp, lap Nürburgring in 7:08

With two major auto shows taking place this week on different sides of the globe, the amount of news being posted across the internet is reaching a fever pitch. Naturally, things happen, trigger fingers get itchy and stories get leaked, which is apparently how we came across this spate of premature pictures and information on the eagerly anticipated Nissan GT-R Nismo.
Packing 595 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V6, the Nismo-fied GT-R should be a serious kick in the pants when run hard. The new power is thanks to a number of donor parts from the GT-R Nismo GT3 racecar, bits that include larger turbochargers, revised intake and exhaust systems and new ignition timing.
Thanks to the engine enhancements, and, we imagine, a few other tweaks to the chassis, brakes and aerodynamics that have yet to be published, the GT-R Nismo is said to blitz the Nürburgring in just 7:08, a mere 11 seconds slower than the $845,000 Porsche 918 Spyder. For a car that is rumored to cost well under a quarter of the price, that performance is just immense.
We'll have the full array of details on this white-hot Nissan when it drops at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show later this week.

Definitely stands out a little with all of that trim... Exactly as NISMO wanted.
Good to see some decent performance out of the new GT-R. I'm still curious what the regular version(s) will end up like.

Not in love with it. Nismo additions seem to be bolt on stuff i can get from after market. Gtr needed new transmission and major cooling upgrades, neither of which were addressed. Price will be key and imo needs to be in $135k range to make sense

I guess I'm not as optimistic.
Wow,
What a super time. Here is the comparison.
458 ferrari = 7;28
Aventador = 7:25
911 gt-2 rs = 7:18
Enzo = 7:25
MP-4 = 7:28
Time for people to bow down to the new and fastest once again production SUPERCAR.
Porsche and Ferrari etc need to step up their game.
Nissan has just fired A-bomb ............

200 NISMO GT-R's being sold this year...
Pretty low volume.
I'm not as impressed with the improvements of the premium/BE models. Those are practically identical to the previous MY, except for head and tail lights.

Why have both P-1 and laFerrari not released the ring numbers.
The 918 has showed the way followed by Nissan GTR ......
Rumor has it they have yet to run a strong number and now that Nissan has dropped
this BOMB ........ What to do next but keep tweaking and hoping .
This is a sticky situation for both...................

Yes I'm a fan but this 7:08 lap time is just crazy,....it just doesn't make sense. I bet Porsche is very very upset with their brand new 991 turbo and 991 GT3 doing 7.30 and 7:25 respectively. I'd say Nismo GTR is cheating
Timing and scoring is performed by certified track officials.
The 7:08 is real and it is a real issue for the new 911 GT-2.
The GT-2 was much slower.................
The plain old $200,000.00 turbo S was really slow.............
