There are always opportunities out there, granted. But with the number of firms that have gone belly-up recently, I'm thinking the environment has got to be pretty grim.

The plus side is that usually this lack of opportunity means a lot of really smart people who'd otherwise disappear into the big firms may instead chase startup ideas. Many will fail or meander but many will succeed, creating a lot of economic goodness some years down the line.

Competition is really high right now. You'd be lucky to hear back from a firm even with killer stats - networking is your only way in

Steve (smj), welcome to the board. It was a nice breakfast Saturday.

Donny, you laughed at me for being on this board all the time, and what about you? However, no one can beat Greg.

My966tt,

Your car looks familiar. By any chance are you around the East Bay, Walnut Creek area?

Those pancakes were excellent. I'll have to go back there...

PS - Hi Eugene!

I'm pretty sure I was cruising right by you last week on 680S where it splits to 24/680. Looked like your front bumper was dangling? Was that you?

Who, me? No loose front bumpers, though the 968 has an issue with the passenger rocker panel thanks to the previous owner and a curb...

Steve, I think Russkiy was talking about my car.

Russkiy, I'm on 24/680 all the time but my car's bumper is not dangling. Are you sure it's me, because most people only see my car's tail.
