Wheel Repair in the Peninsula

UPDATE: 05/29/2013

The car runs normal again. After 3 shops and 4 wheel balances, the guys over at Five Point Tires in Redwood City really went above and beyond to get the car running normal again.

Manny and Adrian checked and rebalanced all 4 of my tires - even checking to ensure the the wheel was rounded. They made numerous adjustments - even to remount some of the tires.

I am happy to report that the car runs smoothly at all speeds. The steering wheel shaking and seat vibrations are gone.

It was my old car again. I couldn't be happier.

I wouldn't say the other shops were bad, as they were all very friendly and helpful... though just weren't able to accomodate to satisfaction for whatever reason.

Thumbs up for Five Point Tires and I will only be asking for road force balancing from now on.

Thanks,

Dennis

ORIGINAL POST:

Been going through a bit of a nightmare.

I'm hoping someone can tell me a reputable wheel repair / tire shop. I live near SFO and don't really want to do the trial and error with shops anymore.

I'd like to find a place that will give my remove/remount my tires and give me a proper balance to stop nasty vibrations and steering wheel shaking I've been experiencing.

Additionally, if it comes to bent tires of sorts, any recommendations there are greatly appreciated.

Backstory:

I cracked my rear driver's side rim (20" Rinspeed C5) about a month ago. I brought my car to a local shop in SF. They "fixed" the crack, however the more problems started from there.

Upon picking up my car the 2nd time, I noticed, amongst other things:

- A chip in my wing
- A tire was low on pressure - to a reply of, "the tire is faulty. I'll fill it with fix-a-flat"
- My wheel hub is damaged thanks to improper mounting of the rim (along with new rim damage)

NOTE: I fully intend to bring all this up to the original shop owner. However, my priorities are to get my car to where I enjoy driving it again - and once happy with my car, I'll be in a positive disposition to give some friendly feedback.
