Hey all, hope all is well. Looks like we have some people in the Boston and surround regions that would be up for a group ride and get together. I am proposing Newport RI for a few reasons..... I am very familair with the area and have helped plan a ride there before. The meet/ride went very well, its on the coast so nice water views, some nice roads, some very nice places to meet right there on the coast etc. (Ocean drive, Fort Adams and some others....) Also the destination is a place where there is a lot of other activities; great bars, dining, hotels, B and B's, Spa's, Mansion Tours, Shopping, etc etc... so if someone wanted to make a week end out of it (maybe they are coming from a long distance) or just stay the night and ensure their spouse is happy as well this area offers a ton........ I can also list out some very nice places to stay and eat etc. There are some truly amazing Inns and Restraunts in the area that run the gammet on price points. (www.thechanler.com or www.castlehillinn.com on the higher end but really nice) Anyway if we get a decent head count I am more then willing to share the info I have and help plan this......also some amazing auto shows in newport but believe they are over the summer but can do some research as well if we wanted to time it as such. Please reply to this thread if you would be interested, how interested, group size, car you maybe bringing etc (maybe you have another auto enthusiats who would come as well with their car but not a 6speed member for example etc..) and finally vote for time of year, spring, summer, fall and day the meet should be on sat or sunday?.... Summer traffic gets a bit nutty and summer still so far away so may suggest Spring but open. That's about it... lets see who's up for it...

For me will be me + most likley spouse
2005 997 should be nicely modded by then (Hamman, tech art coil overs, RUF, etc...)

 

I'm in. I also have contacts in the area who can help set up something really worthwhile.

Hey guys... This is my first post here... I was forwarded this thread by Silk55.

Not sure if you all are interested but I have put a few descent events together for AMG owners and friends the last few years... The last couple years I have assembled BBQs at Ft. Adams for a number of cars... Last year we had somewhere in the vicinity of 35cars. We have a pretty good mix of cars from Lotus elises, to a 997 GT3 RS, to AMG galore, to M3's and M5's and a big turn out of 944s... I brought 2 grills, and everyone brought food... and we had a proffesional photographer taking shots for people too.

I have had a hard time getting some of the italian marques to come out and play but I would love to see more Porsches come out... especially cause Im starting to consider purchasing one next year some time

 

I would def be in for this. Along with a few buddies w some nice rides keep us posted Spring is right around the corner

Ok guys, so I have a little bit more information regarding my annual Newport Run... It will be July 26th, and I have partnered up with the Make a wish foundation. All proceeds will be donated to them. I am also working on some sponsors for the event for gifts and raffle prizes and other entertainment and food. Maybe Ill get to enjoy my meets instead of manning the grill for a change

 

I will be hosting a competing meet in newport same time, same date....but better location... renting a mansion, strippers and free beer.... test drives available of new Nissan GTR, Ralph Lauren delivering a handful of his best cars from his private collection for the meet and oh and a dollar per entry sweepstakes to win a 2008 997TT..... only 25 tickets sold....

Where you thinking fort adams or ocean drive area? Nice to do a photo opp in front of Ochre Court on Salve Campus, need to clear it with the school. Let me know, I am alumni and can help maybe to set it up...

Yes you can roll up and snap pics, but if 20 cars roll up security walks you out....been there and done that; let us stay to finish the pics as I knew the security guy but typically they would not allow for it.

Willing to help, and how do you plan to raise funds for charity? auction, donations, tickets?
