Cool The Jump that Kicked My A$$ (or more like back)

So as most if not all of you know I broke my back mountain biking on Saturday. I suffered a compression/wedge fracture of my L1 vertebrae, as I sit here and type I'm still in the hospital waiting for a brace so I ca be released.

Anyway here are the pics and videos I got from my friend one of the other riders

With our further adieu:

It's near the end

This one is the paramedics and people carrying me out...boring

This is just a quick pan of the rescue scene, we were on the 6th hole fairway at a local golf course

And some pics:

I may have some more if I find them I'll upload them as well.

Needless to say I'm still hurtin

Mike,
Watched the youtube video. JFC! Glad you're able to laugh about it and that all will be well. Geez. Safer to stick to exotic cars, my man -- mountain bikes are DANGEROUS! We'll slam it down when you're ready to party again. Wishing you a fast recovery and hope your move home today is a smooth one.

Like others have said, I'm glad you are ok. Looks like things could have been quite a bit worse! I wish you the best, dude!

Hope you heal soon!

But on a funnier note, you biffed that jump.... bad. That should have been a cake walk.

Oh I know (if I didn't biff it we wouldn't have this post), I've done plenty of stuff harder in the past, you really need to see the jump in person to see where I messed up but three things off the bat...not enough speed, didn't pull up at the right time, weight to far forward...but hey you only learn by trying right....

yea I also didn't have much seat time, that was my first time out in a year and a half and I had only been on it for about an hour before the accident...so i was a bit rusty

Hell yeah! That is definitely the spirit! Get better, and get back out there!

I used to Mountain Bike and was sponsored back in the day, and it was the funnest experience I've ever had. I really need to get back into it, not only for the fun factor, but to increase my cardiovascular endurance.

Mike, glad to see you're ok. I heard yesterday when I spoke with David.

That's one hell of a trip... but seriously man, it could have been really bad. Backs aren't things to mess with. I'm happy you're going to be ok and are in high spirits.

On a slightly funnier note, now you might be more "level" with the rest of the population.

Also, I found your long lost brother.
