You guys were right about corvettes
I might... I figure my Turbo out-runs one still at this point... so there might not be really any point...
What I do really want is silly (and I am having trouble pulling the trigger)... I'm torn between the Scuderia, or a CGT....

I would choose the CGT over the Scuderia. Just a completely different league.
It's funny because I always said "if they had a full leather check box for a few grand so many people would do it". It's a step in the right direction, they need to upgrade the seats to match the beast... offer them in fat or skinny or figure out adjustable side bolsters or something... but a car of the Z06's calliber should not have those seats.

At least they're getting closer...
btw, I've read rumors that the new ZR1 might come with an optional paddle shift. Another plus if you want it for your wife!
If anyone is interested in checking out a new '08 Z06, I'll be at every SCCA AutoX this year.
I'm competing in a stock class, so I'm sure everyone here with their $100,000 Porsches would have no problem beating me.
Right?
Right?

Yeah, the seats aren't the greatest, but a harness bar and a harness keeps me where I need to be when the g's get up there.

I think everyone would agree the Z06 is a great performer and certainly a good value when you look at the price/performance ratio...
But why doesn't GM pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and make the interior nicer than an SS cavalier?
If I wanted a giant motor and a cheap interior, I would buy a Viper.
But what do I know?
I am just an idiot in a "$100K" Porsche

It's not from a looks standpoint, that's not my quarrel, the interior quality, the dash, the steering wheel, the seats felt like they were bought at Schucks for $100 a pop.
First off, I don't want anyone to think I'm labeling them as an idiot or anything other than someone with different tastes.
It was just readily apparant that some folks believed that the C6 Corvettes were pieces of ^&*%. I think their performance alone should dispell that notion.
I think it's perfectly valid for somone to think that they'd rather not spend $62k to get equivilent performance with a much nicer interior.
I've owned 911s before, some Italians too... and I've often seriously wondered what I was paying so much money for. Then again, others might know in their heart that every $$$ is worth it. We looked at GT3s, Exiges, and the Z06 before deciding on the Z06. I especially personlly thought the Z06 rode alot better than the GT3. I always had issues at the limit with the old 911 because of snap-oversteer adn I wasn't keen to revisit it.
That being said, I dont think the interior of an 08 C6 (especially the 3LZ option) is all that bad. Its nicer than any other Chevy by a long shot.
But then again, I bought a brand new 11-second 1/4-mile car that is awesome at track days, competitive in AutoX, no more expensive to maintain than any other fast car, comfortable on long drives, and easy to commute in... for $68k fully loaded.
Sure it's no 599GTB. But it's not the P.O.S. you guys are making it out to be either. Again, it's totally stock... and I'd love to have any of your heavily modded cars come down and have some fun with me at any of the SCCA autoXs in the Portland Region.

Also, look at it this way... I'm not some GT-R Fanboi cmoing here to tell you that some future Datsun I wish I could own will kick your collective asses

The E36 M3s are awesome track day weapons. Nice enough that you don't get passed by Miatas, not quite expensive enough to keep you from 10/10ths
