Hey Jag...You want an easy ticket to fight :-)
Coming back from dinner last night I was pulled over for speeding on 405. I'll admit I was stupid and the cop was in a marked car in the carpool lane (though all of his lights were hidden and he was black) Anyway, I came up on him fast and though my V1 didn't make a chirp, he flicked his lights on and pulled me over. He claims I was doing 89 in a 60... 
... so ya, he really had no idea how fast I was going.
Anyway, he gave me a ticket for 80 in a 60.

May I ask Jag about your services (hopefully will never need to use you). Are you an attorney who specializes in speeding tickets?
I am also curious why the V-1 didn't work?

Probably because he didn't use radar or laser. V1 only tells you if either one of those two or both are in use. The cop probably "paced" him.

The cop was in front of me. The only time he got behind me was when I pulled to the side of the road.

He could have had his radar on and your V1 isn't at 100% right now if I recall correctly.
All he has to say is that he radar'd you and sign a few papers saying blah blah, I'm certified blobbity blah and it's set in stone. The key is, did you admit to speeding or did you use the whole 5th amendment to your advantage?
I haven't gotten a ticket in a whole year. I'm shocked.
