PJ heel toe everywhere. Go into every stop sign, light or country corner a little harder and this will do nothing but improve. Around town. In the Country. Getting groceries. Getting diapers for the baby. Heel Toe Everywhere. Use that car hard and practice practice practice.

You stayed up with the RS America or he layed back to help you out? Just thought I'd ask. Those cars are the bomb.

If your car was a different color than blue it wouldn't have spun off.

BTW at least thank me as well for letting your drive my 993. I think it's the quickest car I own now. Can't wait to get my garage complete to bring it home
with regards to the 993 tt-s... your stable of P-cars is damn nice... a white GT2 and you my friend are done... then unload that italians for a white on white CGT a la ben's former countache... then you are Seinfeld junior which in the Porsche world is not bad!

Blue car off

red turbo towed off due to clutch failure

maybe there is something to this "white" superstition... I wanted white orginally, blue was local with 6500 miles and cpo... I went blue... now I like it more and more... and it is something like 1 of 3 lapis blue 996 GT3 made.. so that is sort of cool... pain to keep clean and it scratches easily... white is the easiest color to own in terms of looking sharp -- even looks good dirty with brown discoloration near the exhaust outlet

the off was not a big deal... if the DME realy did not fail, I would have been back in it on the next session.

So I got to meet the guys at Barrier
Jeff - service manager
Andrew -- SA
Jake -- tech
All very nice today -- in for undertray removal for gravel dump, oil/filter, once over and new splitter... could be much worse I suppose.

now the heel toe stuff... I want you to sit in my car next time we meet... I had Kitch sit in it and I was explaining that at threshold braking levels, h/t is relatively easy to get because the brake pedal and the throttle are right next to each other... I just find it hard to practice on the street because I am not even close to threshold braking around town... Kitch agreed with my assessment and suggested a pedal extension (rennline style)

However, I know people are doing it with stock pedals... so I will be more vigilant in practicing it whenever possible... no problem in my M5 around town, but it has been a ***** to get in this car... curious to see what you think after sitting in or driving my car..

BTW -- that RSA was fast... I talked to him for a long while... it was my favorite car there... I just love the 964 body...

he was not pulling on me down the straight but I was not gaining any ground on him either...

3.6 L
ring and pinion
Rothsport built and dialed...
motons
hoosiers

and a super nice and helpful guy... offered to let me use his enclosed trailer to get the car to barrier AND i just introduced myself to him today!!!

That is what I want... an RSA built for the track... know of any?

PJ the guy that owned that RSA was very nice! so cool of him to offer that!

I heel toe EVERYWHERE in my car. When I am at the track it becomes very natural and easy. I have the RUF pedals in my car with no extension. I'll show you sometime Glad it was fixed so quick.

also: were they able to use the same control unit and just fix it with the computer?

Was the RSA guy named Matt? Dark blue RSA?

If so he helped me out of a minor jam at an auto-x once. Ran out of fuel and he had a 5 gallon can in his trailer.

Very cool fellow and bad-*** car not to mention excellent karma!

I do know of one. I wish you would fit in my seat and I'd let you run it some out there.

Possibly we could work a trade on the 996 for the 964 but I'd need a little coin on top for the color change I'd have to make.

I don't have motons on my RSA that would make it really smooth.

you haven't changed your gearing yet correct. This will slow you in the straight but speed you through the important stuff. You will love it.

My RSA lost 6-8mph in the straight when I did it but I can now pull in places I couldn't.

The owner of that RSA is indeed a self-described "track *****" and does like to trade in Ferrari's in his spare time. VERY cool and relaxed guy. The right temperament for hard-core racing.

I hope you get more time @ the track with him. Solid performers @ the track who aren't a danger to themselves and others are a RARE commodity.

pj, sorry to hear about your track incident. glad you and your car are ok. I have two buddies with Gt3's - one a professional racer recently did $50k in damage to his brand new Gt3 while just tracking, another did over $100k damage (which you get to eat since insurance companies will not cover tracking). Kitch is a great guy - he taught me all my track skills - just saw him a few days ago and showed him my car - he was out in his black 2005 CS (his garage queen). The guys at Barrier are great - all of them. I tell people it is like having my own pit crew when I pull into Barrier - really good guys - they have taken such great care of my pcars. Your car is sure beautiful!
