Any Audi owners looking for Bluetooth? (Trying NW before classifieds)
Any Audi owners looking for Bluetooth? (Trying NW before classifieds)
I had purchase a FISCON bluetooth adapter for my Gallardo based on what was listed on their site, but I purchase it from oempl.us. Turns out that oempl.us is apparently selling a different unit even though its listed exactly the same. And, this unit is not compatible with the RNS in the Gallardo. To top is off, oempl.us is refusing to offer an refund at all. So, now I'm struck with it. Figured I'd see if any forum members with Audis & RNS-E units want to add on bluetooth. I'll even share my VAG-COM to make it easy for you to do the re-coding.

Info at Kufatec site
Somewhat trustworthy info at oempl.us

I've always had good luck dealing with those guys at OEMPL.us so it surprises me to hear that they did this to you. Did you read the fine print before purchasing? It says so on that page what vehicles this unit is compatible with. I don't see the Gallardo as being one of them.

True, but if you look at the same item listed on the Kufatec site then you see it is listed there. Kufatec is either the manufacturer or primary distributor for the Fiscon unit. I did not read down the oempl page as it was claimed to be the same unit. Can't imagine why they would sell the exact same named product but have it be inferior.
After going round and round with their frontline support I did finally get a call and e-mail from the owner. He's now offered to take it back with a 10% restocking fee. I have one more thing to try this week with a tech's help and if that can't get it working then it's headed back.
I always thought that Bluetooth was standard with the RNS-E? I'm also shocked that it's not standard on the Gallardo...Guess it is true that you learn something everyday.I am glad that OEMPL.us is taking care of it. I've heard nothing but good about them in the past.
In the past any Consumer Electronics adoption in cars remained years behind the state of the art, typically three years but in the past three years was not too far from state of the art, and not enough for most consumers to care. Now three years is unacceptable. They are all working on ways to shorten the gap given the ever-widening rate in which CE is evolving while cars remain behind the times. Look at GPS as just one example. The small protable units are often far more powerful than the OEM systems in cars. Still, I'm astonished when I see how far behind the automotive industry remains relative to where CE is today.
