WTB: Laptop

My windows laptop took a dump and my macbook pro wont run some of the programs I need (even running XP on it) for programming remotes and other basic stuff for work.

So I am looking to buy a cheap laptop. Anyone have a working laptop that they have sitting in the closet collecting dust?

There are plenty of cheap ones available at Fry's, but if I can get a used one with XP instead of Vista that might be nicer for similar or less dollars I would be interested.

Thanks,
Rob

I think if you go online many of the common brands have an entry level laptop that has XP as an option.

FerRrari is infamous around these parts
Dell has some pretty good deals on laptops nowadays. Once the new version of Windows comes out you won't want XP, even the BETA is amazing (that's what I've been running for a while and I couldn't be happier).

depends on what you're looking for. Possibly not what you want, but I have a Dell Mini 9 that I'll be selling. Bought it for one of my customers and he decided not to go with it. So it's here unused and has XP on it. I have another one that I just installed Win7 onto and have to say its pretty cool for a small laptop.

PJ you are cruel. Please learn from my posts not to pick on people on this forum and try to limit your bad comments. "If you can't say something nice just don't say it at all"

Rob I've got a 12 year old dell filled with old photos and 20000 cookies from my son's internet use. doesn't work well. Cost me probably 3k back then. Doesn't have XP but I'd for a friend let it go for half of what I paid

PJ, you are correct, the difficult part is getting it untucked from my sock each time!

Mark, thanks for the offer, but I think I will pass =)
