That would be my guess. There used to be a couple of similar cars here in the Northwest doing rally's. I would say a good example should be worth around $20K.

It's a short wheelbase Sport Quattro. I am pretty sure we never got any of them.
For price, I would say for a super clean low mile stocker, $30k+

This place makes some wicked ones!

ok you guys you won't get there so I'll post it.
Year is actually unknown. They made 5 of these funky things for the Audi Rally team in case they were wrecked. They kept them at the factory. Appears they never really gave them a year made and then sold them to 5 VIP customers it says.
LOL 170k Euro's Well over 200k US dollars.

I could possibly think of 1000 other cars I'd rather have

LOL... Even with it's rare pedigree it is just a Sport Quattro SWB. :-) I would think that it would take one hell of a dedicated collector to spend the money they are asking for the car. Now that's not to say that I don't think they will get it... They might. But for they money there are a ton of other "heritage cars" that I would buy.

That car DEFINES Audi. As a European, with an appreciation of rallying that runs thick through the blood, that car (despite a face only a mother could love) brings back great memories of when Audi literally set the whole world of rallying on fire; breathing the word "quattro" caused shudders of fear in their competitors.

What other Audi could you buy today that will be worth twice as much in 10 years ? With the way the stock market is today (and real estate for that matter), that looks like a pretty solid investment to me...
