I got a Prius!

Barrier loaner.
OMG I now understand what car Adam Sandler was singing about in "it's my p.o.s. car".
Truly unsatisfying to drive in every respect. Only "rewarding" thing is the gauges that show how smug you need to be for increasing mileage (at every other road-user's expense of course). Redefines gutless.
It starts off in electric-only mode, which has the response of an asthmatic-ant with heavy shopping, and then you gas-it, for the increase in power ... to merely anaemic.
This car is the perfect car for anyone who hates cars.

Only car I've found to offer a more unpleasant driving experience is the Dodge Nitro.

LOL You are funny Paul. I guess it's all relative - if you are coming from driving an Audi and a Scuderia, a prius would seem like a P.O.S. Your knees are probably up to your chin in that car!

I assume it is their rental agency - not a Barrier vehicle.

S6.

There is an almost-perceptible decrease in power.

My first car was a 1981 VW Polo with a 950cc 4-banger. That was more rewarding to drive than the Prius...

Apple Sauce is infamous around these parts
I could tell you stories about all the rental cars I've driven, but I'll spare everyone. 50+ cars per year

However, there was one particular POS car made by Pontiac --Vibe I took out as a rental, Karma: I guess I did something wrong somewhere, to someone to deserve getting this POS.

I started out driving and thought myself " i must be driving on square wheels."
I returned the car a few days later and mentioned to the attendant that there was something wrong with car. I failed to mention that there was only 350 miles on the odo; We both looked over the car and soon discovered that all four tires were badly scuffed, then evidence from the heavy coat of rubber coating all the wheel wells was more proof that the previous driver had apparently been doing donuts and drifting in the car. This was an AWD and all four tyres were absolutely trashed in less than 350 miles of driving.

Unbelievable.
Oh, and did I tell about the one where I found puke in the back seat of the rental?
never mind.

Your Prius sounds like a nice car!

A couple months back I had my car in the shop and they gave me a Kia Rondo. They handed me the keys and said "It's the Rondo out front." I responded, "WTF is a Rondo?" I had no idea what it even was. What it ended up being was the worse car I have ever driven! I would have taken a Prius over the Rondo in a heartbeat!
