500HP in a go-kart that you can put plates on. And as crazy as it sounds, I kinda think that the people who buy them won't be purchasing garage queens.

 

my guess is most of the cars will sit after 4 or 5 times going out. it's too much power. it would be fun to have though. probably collectors will end up with them

I don't buy this. There are several people here including me who have/had cobra replica's with this sort of power to weight ratio. Much bigger tires, and less refined but still just as insane. They get driven and tracked all the time, this will be no different. Its just built by a group of people istead of in a garage.

 

Thanks for pointing out the Supercharger I don't know how I missed it. But I can't wait to hear how that thing sounds! With only 2.4 liters and a 10,000 RPM engine that thing should sound sweet! I love the sound of small displacement 8's, 10's and 12's.

 

Well the current F1 cars are 2.4L V8's, but with 2x the RPM
Maybe kind of like an F1, just not as loud

 

I'll wait for mine @ $75K in two or three years.

Cool. Like a C65 AMG with 700+LP TQ you wait for someone to get tired of it and acquire it for 30% of new with almost zero miles on it.

Dennis Palatov down in Portland has modified an Atom with a V8 and tracks it at PIR and ORP. 400 hp and 1250 lbs. I read his blog about how you can never really put down all the power, and this is 100 hp less than what Ariel is planning to build
