Drove this yesterday. Exteriors and interiors looks great. Acceleration is also great when there is traction. Braking, clutch, shifting and handling needs improvement. But as Mark stated earlier, this is a cool cruising car or daily driver but not one that's performance driven. Hopefully all that can change with some degree of mods. This car definitely worth $40K new.

vincent i agree the clutch needs improvement. i'd never think the cornering would be good in a 3800lb vehicle so I agree on handling needs improvement.

The shifting is like my gt3..it needs to be handled to get into 1 of the 6 gears. 1st to 2nd shifts have to be thought about. Not unlike the 2nd to 3rd shift in my gt3. You have to pay attention.

Braking I disagree tremendously....In fact Popular mechanics puts it at 107ft (motortrend 105ft) from 60mph and the only info I can find on the Audi R8 shows it to be 112ft from 60mph. So the braking seems to be a touch better then that

Still not bad for a 38k vehicle.

For a stock car, and for the money its all pretty impressive. It's a very good base to start with especially when you consider that its really a GT car.

Dick did a brake test from I think 50. As stated in my previous post its tough to see the speedo. The car braked well. I didnt chalk out the distance but it seemed pretty quick

I was actually accessing the nature of how this car brakes. It may stop the car well but the way in which it did so was quite violent. The whole car vibrates and the nose was all over the place upon braking.
You really believe the braking is better than the R8
Anyhow I'd have to beat on it a little more next time to confirm about the shifting.

You might have to fly solo because your last passenger seemed to have severe tremors when he got out

What do you expect it's an Audi not a Chevy. I've not just hammered the brakes but I didn't get tons of movement. It could have been the Gin and Tonics you were downing at the BBQ

Chicken.....But actually I think those 2 were more violent to the car then I ever will be

We had a Camero family at the track this weekend. There was a new SS, an SS from the late 90's, and an old one from the 60's. The old one was the only one that went on the track. Man that thing was sexy.

I agree the Camaro is much better looking than most retro-muscle cars on the market. I think the convertible version will also be a winner.

Drag Racing....LOL. I think I'd stand a better chance in the 550. 4.6 to 60 and 13 second 1/4's probaly won't do much

Remember when breaking into the 4sec range was a huge accomplishment? There are quiet a few guys well into the 12's in stock form over on the LS1tech board. The 4th gens were good for high 12's if you know how to launch. The '02 WS6 I had was able to muster a 12.97 at 113mph for me.

That's not true. They're meant to be for "picking" chicks up. That takes muscles.
