I'm considering to pick this up sometime in the future, that is after the 1st beta version gets all the blessing with upgrades and what not.
I love Porsche but not willing to become their test bed for sure.

Who knows Porsche might introduce Titanium Edition for this to match my Cayenne

Part of the appeal for me is that it doesn't appeal to the majority of folks out there. The styling is definitely love-hate. Call me a contrarian. There are several terrific options in the 4-dr sport GT segment: Aston Rapide, Merc CLS, 750i, Maser Quattroporte, Lambo Estoque, A8, etc, but I still would want the Panamera. Porsche engineering and pedigree wins me over. Comparing these cars is like debating flavors of ice cream. They are all good depending on your tastes. But I wouldn't throw the Estoque out of bed either.

have you driven a shifter kart? now those have *****....

I believe Ms Greta was infering the looks and lack of following of the 914's...I've seen enough of them on the track with built v8's to know they work pretty darn well around corners.

Mark, if you do end up renting ORP this summer for a private day, I do have access to a shifter kart for use out there. Now that would be interesting.

I respect the 914, despite the looks. It is a formidable track rat and essentially the precursor to the Cayman. A V8 in a mid-engined light chassis must be a hoot around the track. One of these days, I would like to graduate to the shifter kart. Probably the closest I will get to a true race-car experience.

i agree it is precursor to the boxster. I have driven a shifter kart and they are a blast for sure. But a built Chev 350 with 400+ hp in a 914 is a completely different story. I have driven that too and it is down right scary, when it isn't overheating.

The 3 of us have been so busy I haven't been able to nail down a date. We will for sure and that would be a lot of fun. Shifter Karts are the bomb

I can't believe they could fit a V-8 into one of those little ******* boxes - they look like toy cars.
