Looking to drive a GTR in Seattle/Tacoma WA area

Any kind soul with a GTR?

I'm looking to test drive a GTR, but it looks like no dealers are willing to let me sample the car. Before going through the hassle of selling my 09 M3 and heading in the GTR direction, I'd love to get a quick test drive to see what the car is like. Any fellow enthusiast willing to help a fellow gearhead? 10-15 minute test drive in exchange for lunch or dinner? Might not be as exciting, but if you never driven an M3, you can try my car too.

Michael

Damn Michael, you got rid of that RS4 not to long ago... Flying through cars.

Lemme chat with my buddy, happens to have a dealership and I might be able to make something of a deal with him.

You looking to sell the M3 private party, or trade it in?

Thanks man! In terms of selling, I have not decided on the method yet. I'm deciding if I want the GTR first. Personally, I've been pretty disappointed with the M3. It's a tiring car to drive. It just plain feels slow unless your reving the heck out of it. 2nd gear carries too much revs for daily driving and 3rd-4th gear doesn't make enough "grunt". I also think the suspension could use some work. It definitely too soft for me. I'm at a time in my life where I think want the torque. I want to experience the GTR first though, before I make any sudden moves. Everyone I talk to though tells me once you drive the GTR, you'll be hooked. Some might complain about the looks, but personally I like the hard anglar stance.

It's either wait for the forth coming SC kits from AA, VF or ESS and add a set of Moton's, or move on to something else.

Good Chevrolet in Renton has a black GT-R. If you drove in with your M3, I would imagine they would let you test drive it. Doesn't hurt to try. If you asked for Andre, and mentioned that I said that he'd let you drive it, I think he would

Thanks. Missed that reply for some reason. Sorry about that.

I am quite surprised by your impression of the M3. I do not I feel the same way. I am very impressed with mine. It's the best all around car I have ever experienced. Very easy to drive and comfortable at low RPM. Or press the EDC to Sport for some stiffer suspension setting and rev it up for some serious fun. The HP curve is extremely linear and it keeps pushing at a crazy rate until 8300 RPM. Love it. And the car feels very neutral and balanced. BTW, I have the 6 speed manual.

I have taken mine to 2 track days already (been tracking cars for about 4 years now) and I love it. I will be back at PR tomorrow for some more fun.

Good luck with the GTR if you go that way.

I agree is it very docile around town, almost like a regular 3 series. (hence the reason I'm a bit disappointed). The linear torque curve is what gives the impression of lack of acceleration. The car is fast as the number shows, but for your good old butt dyno, it just doesn't feel it. It is a very deceptive car. I guess I've driven a few boost cars and they just seem so much more fun to drive around town as you can point and shoot alot more.

Personally I would love the M3 with about 75-100 more more torque across it's entire powerband.
