Sounds like a fun idea.. I enjoyed In-N-Out last week in Stockton delivering a car for SEMA and will enjoy it next week taking my car down.

Would people prefer to stay in cabins/tents/yurts, or stay at a hotel and casino?

This has been confirmed for July 9th, 10th, and 11th.

Hotels will be used. The first hotel will be The Mill Hotel and Casino in Coos Bay, Or. Had to bump to early July due to them already being booked in late June, and they are the nicest/best option on the coast. Coos Bay is the best stop for day 1 because it is about the 1/2 way point of the drive. We will get discounted rooms, 24 secured parking, and a car wash station will be setup by The Mill.

UPDATE:

July 9th, 10th, and 11th.

Plans have been finalized.

I have 50 rooms secured for both Friday night on the Oregon Coast, and Saturday night in Redding.

I also have lunch stops set for Friday and Saturday, with dinner at the hotel/casino Friday night and at In-N-Out Saturday night.

The finalized thread is still scheduled to be posted in January. I will attempt to pm all of those that showed interest and give them a heads up to reserve rooms asap.

One issue I have found is that since this and the other boards are public forums, people have taken the thread and cross-posted it all over the place. I just found out last week that this had been posted on a Miata based forum which in turn lead to it being posted on VWVortex. The Miata forum found out from a Nissan forum that it was posted on. I created none of those posts.

The finalized thread will contain the date and hotel information only. The route information will be handed out the day of the rally. I don't want stragglers or police tagging along for the drive.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to fire away.

Also, should I plan a lunch stop for Sunday on the way home, or is everyone going to just want to do their own thing at that point?

If someone has a spare seat (front) open, would they be willing to let me tag along? I'd chip in some cash for gas.

I've got that under control. None of the other forums that I didn't post it on will get update with the hotel information. The "leak" began on a local BMW forum that I'm on. The majority of the members are from eastern Washington and they haven't shown any interest in driving over for this rally. That forum won't get updated either.

I'll ensure that all of those that want to attend from the original forums I posted this on will get their chance. If I still have spots left, I will leak it to additional forums that I trust. VWVortex, Hondatech, and other forums that are full of teenagers and idiots will not get wind of it.

No doubt there. With my job being primarily commission based, the economy has hit me hard as of late. Hopefully things pick up a bit in the new year.

I know someone will need a copilot. I'd like to see as many luxury and exotics along as possible.

I'd be very interested to attend, and the plans you have outlined so far are looking even more attractive to me.

I just need to add a fitness program prior and after!

Sounds great. I'll add you to the list and send you a pm as soon as the details for hotel reservations are available.

This sounds pretty interesting. I mentioned this to a buddy and he sounded pretty interested as well. Please keep me in the loop if you don't mind a couple STI's tagging along.

Also a suggestion to keep control of it..... Once you establish who is interested, post all the details in a PM to them rather then on the forum itself. If the general community doesn't know the meeting location and time then you will get fewer party crashers from other forums. Sure people who are on the PM list will tell others but it will not get spread as rapidly. Just a thought.

STi's are more than welcome. Looks like you're from my neck of the woods as well. Keep an eye out for a white '03 Cobra in the Bonney Lake area.

As far as keeping control of the crowd that goes, taking it to pm's is the option at the top of my list.

I plan to create a thread with the general plans. No route or hotel information. From there, I'll pm all of those that have shown interest to confirm they are still interested, and I would provide them with the hotel details from there.

I think that's the plan.
