+1 for Hugo and team at Benchmark! They did a great job on the 9500ci install on my 997.2.

So I'm curious... I've thought about picking up a V1 off/on for awhile now. I actually don't speed that often on public roads (save it for the road course) but I do like to occasionally get on it if I can find a good open road.

My concern is how well do these really work? If I speed it's typically when there are very few cars on the road and I'd imagine I won't know anything until I get nailed right? Yay, I know I'm getting a ticket a minute or two before I get pulled over

Also on laser jammers... Isn't it pretty obvious to the officer if he points at you and gets no reading?

Looking for an unbiased response, but in what scenarios do detectors really work/make sense?

Not necessarily. Cops will just sit on the side of the road hitting cars with their guns. Or they'll be driving down the freeway with it turned on so they're ready to check anybody they think may be going too fast.
You can detect these signals generally way before they can even see you.

Laser OTOH, is scary. You have to be lucky to catch a bit of laser signal in your detector before the officer has hit you with it directly(bounced off a car in front of you or whatever). Fortunately it requires them to be stationary, reducing the situations in which laser is used.
