I'm a believer now :)
You're still doing that! Wow! I came a few times to Applebees but I hadn't realized that you guys moved back to Azteca's. I can't this week but I will next week try to come out. Sorry to get off topic.
No worries. Applebees was a temporary thing. The Azteca thing has been going on for maybe 10 years or so!
I can't make it this week either. I'm probably in for next week though.
Everyone will go nuts if they see a Scud.

I've launched it, auto-x'd it, tracked it now almost 20 times - no problems yet.
Stock transmissions can handle well over 600whp. Not sure what you mean by frail...

Nice purchase!!! I've had mine for over 2 years now, and it still brings a smile to my face, everyday. It is tall enough to see over the Miata in front of you. I've done the Cobb AP + Y-pipe mod. If you get a custom tune, it is an easy 60-100hp gain. It also 'fixes' the power issue in the upper speed range (I like this for passing on the highway).
What year did you get?

It was a solenoid issue. And it started back in '07 (JDM only).
You may also be thinking about the LC debacle...
LC1 - 4500RPM, must disable VDC
LC2 - ~2500-3300RPM (you can play with throttle to adjust), can be done in either VDC - normal, R, off. But if you turn it off and launch, I believe you are susceptable to previous warranty implications. I haven't tested this out yet, because I launch in 'R', and have no problems with traction.
LC3 - 3000RPM must be in Manual mode, and up to temp (and I think VDC in 'R' - not sure).
2009 - came with LC1 - Nissan offered reprogram to LC2, if you upgraded, you were given 'amnesty' from any damages from LC1 (this happened in Jan '09).
2010 - came with LC2
2011 - comes with LC3
I prefer LC2, because there is nothing you have to do special to the car. Whatever mode you're in, whatever button configuration you have - mash the brake, mash the accelerator, release brake - hold on.
But all of these can be reprogrammed by the Cobb AP (006).

More hype. I did a ton of research and these issues are blown out of proportion as is everything on the interwebz.
Not necessarily... I've launched mine 50+ times, Nissan has no problem with this (they haven't since Jan of 2009). I'm not talking about my dealership, I'm talking about Nissan North America as well as GT-R HQ in Japan. They've personally read my box (something else I really like about the car - you can PROVE that you didn't abuse the car).
