It just occurred to me that I'd wondered if there would be an E@RTC event this coming Saturday before the charity show at UW?

 

Yes, the show will go on ahead of the charity event, and we'll time it to get ourselves over to Red Square on time. I'm hoping to see good weather in the morning and for the rest of the day.

 

Driving over is going to be really fun because of the 405 shutdown. Sigh...

 

I just looked at the weather, and it looks like Saturday is supposed to be the one nice day later this week.
Thought I would also mention that there will be some modern GM power in the house on Saturday. A few Pontiac G8's, GTO's and 5th Gen Chevy Camaro's will be attending. We have a dyno day at Carb Connection planned for the afternoon. Unfortunately we scheduled it before the Red Square Show date was announced.

We post if we're on or off every Thursday morning as we have for almost two years now. We only call it well ahead of time if the weather is certain, something we don't see this time of year, ever.

 

The way the weather has been changing lately, I am surprised you don't wait till 5am on Saturday to call it! I wouldn't want to be the one who says yea or nay!

We tried that in our early days but then people *****ed because we didn't give them enough notice. The problem is that people make hotel reservations just to come to E@RTC and this allows them make changes and not spend $$.

We simply average the three weather reports and if it says 30% or higher, we call it off. Blame the weather folks if they get it wrong. It burns up too much time to deal with countless messages on the subject of weather every week so it was simple enough to set one policy and not mess with it. Most of the time they are right. Some were arguing that because Friday was nice, Saturday would also be nice even though no weather report concurred. It rained, just as they said it would.

 

Lots of ways to get to E@RTC and avoid 405.

 

The other option would be to go North and over via Lake City way through Bothell. I'm considering just skipping E@RTC altogether and going straight to UW instead.

 

Do you need to confirm with Ben for the UW show? Was there a thread?

 

Most of the fun is simply the drive over. It's better than just parking.

 

You live in Bellevue! It won't be that hard to get around. People will be avoiding 405 as it is. Last year (or the year before) 520 was closed the weekend of the show and we had to drive around.

We still don't know what the weather is going to do for E@RTC.
