We are gaining momentum with our attendance at RTC and its a direct result of everyones excitement and involvement each week. Now that we are experiencing nearly 150 cars on a sunny day the PARKING THUGS would like your help to keep things running smooth when everyone arrives. It is appreciated if you would help with the following:
1) No Reving or excessive displays of speed, This will get you removed immediately. There is Redmond police present.
2) ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOW when you see Jr. Thug in the PINK VEST, she will call out a lot number for you to proceed too. This is key to keep cars moving. Every week the lots will be organized differently.
3) The parking thugs will assist you with parking properly for easy exit and photo ops. Please Lose the ATTITUDE, we are there also with like kind cars and very much appreciate everyones cars.
4)Have fun and introduce yourself to the Parking Thugs, everyone is here to enjoy Cars and conversation about cars.
The PARKING THUGS are volunteering their time every saturday, so Please RESPECT THEIR AUTHORITY.
We look forward seeing you every Saturday.

We don't want to give the impression that attitude is a huge problem. We've only had a couple of people arrive with a bad attitude so far this season, which is a lot fewer than when we started E@RTC. Bad attitude is rare but it occasionally happens. 99.9% who arrive are there to have fun.
As for how we park cars, we did have someone complain about where we park some brands so I thought I'd write something here with the hope that it gets passed around to other forums that may have an issue.
We currently have three lots and we may add lot #4 once we hit warmer weather. We switch up the lots so there is no permanent lot #1.
The lots are managed by ten volunteers nicknamed the "Parking Thugs". The Thugs drift from lot to lot based on how fast the cars arrive, but generally we have three Thugs per lot, all on radios, with lots and lots of chatter to keep us busy with not a lot of time to get into conversations about anything. "Honey Badger" is our greeter in the pink vest and calls out what's arriving on her radio so we know what to park where. She knows her stuff.
We need to say this again because it often comes up: There is no premium parking at RTC! It doesn't exist.
We shift layout every week so there is no such thing as "preferred parking." Crowds tend to build around what's rare and unique. Rare and unique will always draw more spectators and conversation. Sometimes people come a very long way to see cars they have never seen before in person.
Each Saturday morning we arrive early and plan where we're going to park cars based on several factors such as weather, events, not to mention the number and location of the occasional "walk of shame" (WOS) cars left over from the night before. When it happens, we try to use the WOS lot for the lower volume random cars so we're not breaking up the lines of various models. Often the WOS cars leave shortly after we start and sometimes RTC knows the circumstances of those cars and lets us know when we arrive. We’re working to eliminate the problem entirely. RTC does ticket those cars. They will be putting the cones out earlier to try and get a clear lot by morning. They are considering towing those cars because it's been a problem for RTC overall.
Next, we pay attention to the chatter on the forums and consider any groups that have contacted us about coming out. We also get calls about special cars or some other considerations, such as cars that want to remain after we're done for the morning, or a special photo shoot request.
We prefer to park sedans on the perimeter of each lot because it makes it easier for participants to see what's there and it makes for better photos. We try to group cars based on make and model. The popular shots on the internet are the group shots of several of the same type.
We will sort by color one of these days just for fun so stay tuned for that!
We then watch what's arriving and begin the morning by sorting out the brands as they arrive and we just start parking cars, keeping in mind what we think is coming out that day. We reserve the front area two spots for cars of true distinction that are not there every week, are very rare, and often extremely valuable. We use those spots so people can get the best photos.
The Thugs have to keep in mind that some cars have very touchy clutches, or a horrible turning radius and we know those cars so we try and route the cars so there is a minimum of hassle parking, but it's not always easy. Some classics can burn their clutch very easily so we’re always trying to give them a clean shot to a parking spot.
There is no way we’re ever going to make 100% of the group happy but we do our best to get close. If you have parking concerns, it’s best to arrive about 8:30. We ask that you do not park before the thugs arrive or we may have to move you. If you have to leave before 11:00 AM, let the thugs know so we can take that into consideration. If you have special concerns, send us a note ahead of time and we’ll do what we can to help you out.
With attendance now running between 100-150 cars a week depending on weather and over 500 spectators on a nice day, we’re all doing our best to make it fun and we hope you come out again and again. If there is something we can do to improve E@RTC, please tell us. We’re learning as we go.
See you Saturday!

Wow Tommy, its hard to believe anyone could show up there with a tude or not have a good time while there.
If I have not said it before, thank you to each and every one of you responsible for making this happen each week, your time and effort are certainly appreciated by me, I think you all do a wonderful job.
Once again, thank you very much!

Thanks! Yea, we all have a great time. It's usually new people who have no idea what to expect and read way too much into what we're like out there. By the time they arrive they are looking for something to not be right. After they are there and see that everyone is nice and accommodating, they start to have a good time. They have to come out a few times to see that it's all about having fun.

I would certainly like to second thanking everyone involved for putting this event on each time. My daughter and I always have a great time seeing all of the tremendous cars that come out.
