Porsche extended warranty?

Hello everyone,

We bought the 08 Cayenne S back in Dec 07 so factory warranty is about to expire.

Questions, please:
1. Does Porsche offer extended warranty and is it worth it? Should I just go to barrier and inquire?
2. How about a 3rd party warranty? Which one should I go with?

Thank you, all for any help you could provide.

Talk to Megan in finance. They actually sell a great warranty there, a friend was just telling me the other day how it saved his behind.

You can buy the 3rd party warranty directly from the company without going through the dealership and paying their markup (the dealer will still honor it). Costco now sells one that my local indy recommended and a lot less than easycare.

you are correct but I believe there is some value in purchasing it from the dealer if you are planning on doing service and repair at the dealer -- in the event of a claim denial by the warranty company, the dealer has some skin in the game in making sure that you get what you were anticipating if you purchased from them.

you can negotiate the price of the warranty with the dealer... just sayin

virtually all dealers and independents will honor these warranties. If you are going to get work done at an independent, it is worth your time to aske them about their experiences with the aftermarket warranty companies -- go with one that your shop likes working with...

I took the offering from barrier (fidelity) and asked a couple independents about it and everyone was really positive about their experience with Fidelity. So I felt like I had a few bases covered.

JM&A extended Warranty's that you get through Barrier are second to none. They will pay way more claims than many others.
