Guys -- I need a good muffler shop in the Portland, OR area to do the Gundo hack on my 2008 Porsche. PLEASE - any recommendations?

I've heard crazy prices on the Gundo hack and it looks fairly straightforward.

Also, if you know of a good exterior detailer, please let me know as well.

Thank you!

I'm in the same boat. I considered getting the hack done by Darin Fister. They do a ton of them do they have a lot of experience. You will find a lot of people on here that have their cans and rave about the quality of the welds . They also only use a 1 3/4", and I was really wanting 2". Basically they send you the mufflers already hacked and you send yours back to them. The problem is you still have to get them reinstalled. I use Matrix integrated as my Indy shop. They do great work and much less expensive than the dealership. They could install the mufflers, but at shop rates - about $200 just for R/R (remove and replace).

My car is my daily driver and its a fairly simple mod so I can't see myself sending it away.
$200 bucks plus the hack doesn't sound too bad. Where are they located?

Mine is a daily driver too. Actually, they do not modify your muffler. You get a modified muffler set first an then send your back to them afterwards. They also use the honor system and don't charge you a core fee and refund later. The cost is $250 plus shipping and then you either install them yourself ( I heard it is not that hard) or take
It to a shop. Check them out www.fdmotorsports.net. Also do a search on here they are lots of write up and you can check YouTube to hear it. I also considered the AWE's but for the price of the hack I could always buy them afterward if I was not happy.

Matrix is a full service shop. They can do your mufflers and any service related stuff on your p-car. Oil changes $105 or $109 (cant remember) either way much less than Sunset.

The cans you get from Fister I doubt are brand new. I am sure they take the exchanges and check and recondition them, but they are new to you

As far as a detail shop. I do my own, so I can't help you there as far as experience. There was a guy I heard about that does paint correction. I used to frequent the auto detailing forums and he had a great reputation . He is probably who I would use if I had someone detail my car. He is going to cost more, but you get what you pay for. His name is Tom Dekany
New Shine Detailing - cell phone number: 503 939 4065

Hope that helps!

Ok good to know! I'll check out Matrix, sounds very reputable and know what they're doing.

My car's exterior and interior is in flawless condition but I would like to get it detail.

By the way, what year is your car? Looks nice!

Thanks. Your car is beautiful as well. Mine is an '07. The picture is a little old. I need to update it. I bought a wing that I am getting painted and installed in a few weeks, so I will update it after. I got the name of a great guy from another board member so i will see how he does.
If you get the time you should come by te cascade Cars and coffee. I went to one and need to go again. It good to meet the locals

Yeah. I have seen his work and heard about his reputation. I had a BMW 650 I was going to take to him, but got rid of. Then I decided to buy the tools to do it myself. I am waiting for the weather to turn and then I will try my hand at it.......I will probably end up having him fix my damage. LOL

BTW - I would use Tom Dekany even for the simple job. He will use the best products and properly prep the paint. Most shops around here don't even clay your car first.

I had an 04 M3 vert w/37K miles that I got rid of.
It was sweet ride ... SMG was my favorite but did the job.

I LOVE my 08 Targa 4S. It only has 5,000 miles on it and is a gem.
Here are the mods I have in mind...
* Clear bra - done
* Gundo hack
* Front LED DRLs - too many choices...
* Interior LEDs
* Spacers - like 7mm front and 12mm rear... still not sure if this is safe to do
* Softronic ECU update...I wonder how difficult the DIY is?

Did you do the LED mods?

I did not do the LED mods. They have been having So many issues, but I think that it is fixed. I had the clear bra on it before I got it (not the greatest job so I will probably have it redone. Who did you use?
