Vancouver BC/Bellingham Drive

NW Washington/Lower BC Porsche “Informal” Tour

I have a 90-100 mile bike course I ride which has 2 traffic lights, 3 stop signs and very low amount of traffic. The route encompasses Chuckanut drive, Skagit flats and Skagit river roads giving a wide mix of highway terrain, curvature and surfaces.

Weather permitting (no frigg’in rain!!!) a couple of us are going drive this course Monday February 11, starting at 9:30am in Bellingham at Fairhaven Park at the start of Chuckanut Drive. We were planning on stopping at the 45 mile mark for coffee/food at the Rexville Café/Grocery.

If you are interested in joining us, please PM me and I will send you the course map with GPS addresses for those that might get lost. YOU drive whatever speed you feel comfortable with, this isn’t a race…..it’s just an easy workout ride

I'd be interested in going down and doing this but not until after April 30 (I'm a tax accountant and that's when I will have my client returns done as out deadline in Canada is April 30). In the meantime it's heads down 7 days a week except for the day my 2013 991S Cab gets delivered which should be in early March!

I'm tentatively in. I have a group of 10 plus local exotic owners that may be down as well. PM me and I'll shoot you my email address.

Do you do E@RTC? We meet at King St. Woods Coffee/Shell (Bellingham,WA) station the morning of the events. I'm leaving country this weekend ...hence my desire to see E@RTC canceled till I get back.

Cheers,
Chris

Unfortunately I can't make it this weekend. Maybe next time. My 991S is supposed to arrive in Vancouver over the weekend and I hope to pick up on the 15th.

Pete

I'm getting very anxious about the car's arrival. Over 6 months waiting now.
I have the Porsche Sport Exhaust on my car as it has the X51 engine option and is included. I've read the warranty and anything added to the car that is not approved by Porsche Cars Canada can void the warranty and I'm not prepared to take that chance. Maybe when off warranty but changing exhaust can lead to a slippery slope of mods (ask me what starting with a sport muffler for by Turbo wound up with). Many many $ in additional mods. I did those mods a month after the CPO warranty expired.

I'm not aware of a good tinting shop but if you called Jon at Burrard Autostrasse (you can say you were talking to me) he might be able to point you in the right direction. Be very careful about how dark you tint driver and passenger side windows as it does not take much of a tint to get you a ticket and requirement to remove the tint. The police gave one of our PCA members a ticket for both tinted side windows and no front plate in one morning a year or two ago.
