RX7 Owners UNITE!
When I used to live in Northern VA a few years back, had a base 93 RX-7 with catback and downpipe. Bought it from Peter Farrell Supercars in Manassas, VA. It had 103K miles with a rebuilt engine. What a fun car and was reliable as well! Really miss it now!
Got about 12 mpg LOL !

You and your crazy V-mount setup lol......Is your M3 a daily? I'd like to pick up either an M3 or an SC300.
It's official, I can't stand the rx7club.....but it's like a car accident, I have to look.

The car was simple and good looking but with parts that dont hold up well by Japanese car standards.
I'm glad I have a Porsche now. I dont mind wrenching but not every month.
Lots of issues such as fluctuating idle, wont pass smog, stalls when hot etc. This is on top of other wear and tear items such as brakes, plugs, broken stereo, etc. Maintenance on the car was pretty high and required frequent servicing. Think oil change every 2k mi and plugs every 15k mi. Car is very hard to work on. Plug job takes at least an hr even with practice.

ouch, sounds like you had a poorly maintained car or just a bad apple.........ive put 11k on mine just in the last 3 months and the only issue ive had was a dead battery and rubber hose that dried up and split, easy fix. so far anything ive had to work on was relatively easy, and all the components have held up very well for a 15yo car.

compare to my 996, i'd had zero issues and just oil change every 10K mi. porsche beats toyota in reliability in my books.
i dont think so actually. i had my rx7 for 4 yrs and 35k miles. u had urs for 3 months and 2 issues already. doesn't that tell u something? granted, these are small issues but you'll find out soon enough. it's not the cost actually. it's the annoyance and unreliable factor that someday the car just wont work right or even start.

a properly setup and maintained rx7 is very reliable........but i do agree that when they are not properly maintained or cared for (could be due to prior owner) that they definetly have their fair share of problems.
btw, i noticed this year that porsche actually had the highest initial quality.....great time to buy a new pcar!
I'm going to be the out cast here haha.
I have a FD but its a LS1 car.

then I have had 2 others come through my garage that I have swaped and I'm working on this one right now

Just finished this one
