UPDATE...I just saw your post of your car. Sure enough folks ...FART CAN deployed. No wonder your car sounds like crap. That thing is absolutely RICER hidious.

As a previous owner of a 3rd gen, I debated buying another and doing the LS1 swap but decided to just get the car the engine came in!

In my opinion the 2 rotors can sound okay, but never anything that's amazing. Now a 3 rotor on the other hand sounds like a freaking exotic but of course doing the swap is big money. And the 4 rotor sounds even better but then you might as well buy a Lambo! I always thought it was interesting that the LS1 doesn't sound the same in other cars as it does in the Vette.

 

once again ill help you with the reading....i didnt specify just my rotary...i think all 2rotors sound like crap. ive heard numerous different exhaust setups from mild to wild and quiet to loud......the 2rotor just doesnt make a noise that i enjoy, period. i disliked the 2rotor sound LONG before i owner one. i bought the RX7 because i love its shape, size, weight, handling.

im glad you like the sound of 2rotors, but i dont....sorry you have a hard time accepting that.


as for my car, yes it still has a rediculous fart pipe exhaust from the previous owner that i cannot stand. i welded an additional muffler into the section where the cat used to be which quieted it down and removed rasp, however it needs a completely new exhaust IMO. i have already purchased a pair of XR1 mufflers and some 3" pipe to fab up my own exhaust, just trying to find the right exhaust tip, something subtle but stylish. also considering having the entire exhaust coated matte black, although not sure on that yet.

 

awesome color choice, although ive never really been a fan of that front skirt/bumper, im sure the car will still look badass.

 

Nice to see some good examples of the Rex's. I cant get enough of them always have a couple on hand. Sorry no photos on my computer. Nice work guys.

 

Of course, I'm mega-bias but I think FDs with fart cans can sound decent.

Here is something new.... This model is part of out sport compact line, we will be releasing it next month. Think of it as a sneak peak.

Anyways this is a friends car and I was blown away.

 

Good God those wheels are nice, they look like the ones made by Work. Sublime rx too, even the standard look is beautiful.
