Question about supras from new 996tt owner

I'm pretty new to the turbo scene, but as I research, its seems like even the die-hard p-car guys will admit that the supra is pretty much the best platform to build on for HUGE hp. I really don't know much about these cars, other than that they had like 330 hp stock. So the question is, what is it that makes these cars so capable and mod-able? Is there something about these cars that make them uniquely capable in this regard? Just curious. Scott.

Iron block, inline-6, numerous drag racing R & D from the very best in the sport. It also helps that the car was very well engineered from the start. Several stock components hold up pretty darn well to whatever is thrown at it; transmission, rear-end, axles. Also from the very get go, Japanese sport cars have always been a poor man's version of finer Euro cars. The aftermarket has helped encourage competition between these cars and a lot has been learned and developed as an outcome. Don't worry the Porsche scene is just getting started at another level. What was once thought never possible is soon going to be reality.

kre8ive is infamous around these parts
Have numerous friends that are running 825-950 at the wheels on stock internals, single turbo upgrade, etc. These cars can handle so much it's ridonkulous, who would have ever though an inline 6 with 330 stock can handle 1000 hp. They need build another car like this but don't call it the Supra so it doesn't lose it's name strength. Call it the hoopla or something. Toyota wake up and build something already, you have enough damn mileage machine's running around.

These cars are able to handle a lot of horsepower on the stock block/internals, not to mentiion they are still very reliable even when highly modded.
