Buy the S2k. You won't regret it. I've had two, and will always have one!
My S2K gets driven, the Porsche TT just stays parked a lot.
A true drivers car that unlike the Lotus, you can actually use this as a daily.

S2K is a great car, handles well, very reliable. The 02 and up have the glass window in the soft top. In 06 they added traction control as well I believe. Just take care of the usual maintenance and it'll last for 150k miles.

I've got a supercharged one for sale if you were interested in a modified one. Good luck on your search!!

I've had an '04 for four years and 50,000 miles with no issues. I added an HKS exhaust and a Fujita CAI, but apart from that it's stock.

If you're buying in the US or Canada the engine went from 2.0 to 2.2 liters in 2004. The rest of the world still has the 2.0 engine revving to 9000rpm.

The interior has changed over the years too, mostly with updates to the seats after 2004.

Check out www.s2ki.com for all the info you could ever want.

It all depends.

The f22 has no issues with dropping valves or oil jets, but I like the 9k revs of the ap1. The ap2 also has a stronger diff than the ap1, so they aren't prone to blow as much. The ap2 has a little more toque, but really the best thing to do is drive an ap1 and a ap2 and see what you like better.

I was lucky enough to have had an ap1 before, and now my ap2. I like the ap2 better.

For the US market yes. The ap2 has the f22c in it. They were making ap2's in Japan with a 9k rev limit still. Were the market that always misses out on the fun.

Everyone has pretty much stated what needs to be known. I have also owned one, and they are great cars. I had an AP1 and did prefer that to the 2.2, however if I bought another I would most likely buy AP2 because it is new and has a few small interior changes. Just make sure to get the glass rear window. You will love the car.
