Problem is that porsche wanted to have a car that has plenty of room in the back to compete against the luxury cars like the S-class, Quattroporte, XF-Coupe, 7-Series, A8 etc.
reports say that Porsche is working on a 2-door version that uses the platform of the panamera. i guess that 2-door version could get a more dynamic rear and roofline cause they wouldn´t have to focus on the space in the back that much then. such a car would provide less space in the back than the actual panamera but more space than a 911. this one would compete against the 6-Series, Maserati GT, DB9, Mercedes-CL, Bentley Continental-GT etc.
we will see...

thanks.
I`m looking forward to finally seeing the PM in person
The front is quite nice but IMO the rear in white looks nondescript, without style, like a pile of snow.
The Panamera will be one of the most fun sedans out there. The Turbo will smoke Mercedes, BMW, and Audi, and they've been making sedans forever. It is as big as the S/7/A8, but it is relatively lightweight. 0-60 in less than 4 seconds, and we can bet it will out handle them too. Unbeatable performance with AWD in a full -size luxury Sedan.
I'm sure a rear end will come out that changes the entire look from third parties as well.
Time will tell and until then...I'm lookin forward to seein a nice black on black tinted turbo to soften the lines and pop the front and tail lights nicely.
From the B-pillar forward I like the Panamera but from the B-pillar back it is atrocious.
IMO the rear end looks like a fat old lady's ***.

This actually is looking good in these pics. I think with the wing up, or perhaps an aftermarket wing, it'll look better.
Why the hell are the majority of the pictures the low end models? I'm sure the Turbo has a different body kit (more aggressive).
There are not many differences in body kit between the Turbo and the 4S.
Main differences are:
Position of the front parking lights
Shape of the exhaust
Trim for side grill.
Rear wing (when open)
